A VINTAGE BLACK VELVET COAT/CLOAK WITH HOOD. This heavy cotton velvet coat is fastened at the neck with a large button (broken)! The hood is lined in red silk and trimmed with sequins. The coat is full length. Tailored as a cloak with red silk lining, side pockets and long arms with sequined trims at the cuff. Labelled 'Anthony charles' Koupy. Size 12.

Rare Symphonion disc playing musical box, Model 25F, formed as a bound oak barrel surmounted with a large terracotta figure of Falstaff, an ale jug in his right hand and raising a glass in his left, the barrel having a hinged door to the front with script 'Symphonion' and opening to reveal the twin comb mechanism, the winding handle to the rear, together with five 11 3/4" discs, 113cm high Illustrated in the catalogue of Ernst Holzweissig Nachf for 1898 Condition: Figure has had a series of repairs including left leg, left foot, right leg, right toes, left arm and cloak, some missing areas including top of tankard, combs are complete with no signs of re-tipping, movement runs when wound - **General condition consistent with age
A South-East Asian wooden figure Representing a Khmer style standing Buddha with hands in double abhaya mudra. With traces of black and red colour and gilt. Possibly Cambodian 15th century H 168 cm CONDITION REPORT: Remnants of old paint and gilding, the back has losses and wear, some loss to the woodwork by the base and cloak, all wear to the patina consistent with age.

A RARE MONGOLIAN BRONZE CLOAK BUCKLE 13TH CENTURY The circular open-work buckle with an interlocking continuous geometric design, all bordered by a herring bone band, 11.4cm. Provenance: formerly in a private Russian collection, discovered in 1919 at a Mongol site in the village of Veliki-Ustyug.
Two large Derby figures modelled as John Milton and William Shakespeare. Decorated with restrained enamelling and gilding, each stood leaning against a column stacked with books and raised on rococo style bases. Patch marks c1765, 31cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Some loss to Milton's cloak and minor old restorations. Shakespeare with a large series of cracks to the back and base and minor old restorations.
Léopold Bernhard Bernstamm (Russo-French, 1859 - 1939), a patinated bronze portrait bust of Czar Nicholas II, portrayed wearing the uniform of the Life Guard Preobrazhensky Regiment, his cloak draped around his right arm and over the rectangular section socle, signed in the maquette at the base edge (verso) L. Bernstamm and dated 1897 , 48cm high Provenance: Previously sold at Bonhams London, November 28th 2012, the Russian Sale, lot 28 Bernstamm was born in Riga, now Latvia, entering the studio of Prof. David Jensen at age 13. A year later he entered the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts of Saint Petersburg, where he won prizes. In the early 1880s he made around thirty busts of celebrated Russians including Fyodor Dostoyevsky (from his death mask), Denis Fonvizin, Aleksandr Ostrovsky and Mikhail Saltykov-Shchedrin. These busts established his reputation. He then spent 1884 in Rome and Florence, continuing his studies under Professor Rivalti In 1885 he settled in Paris, often returning to Saint Petersburg. His sculptures of eminent Frenchmen soon made him famous, including portraits of François Coppée, Paul Déroulède, Gustave Flaubert, Ludovic Halévy, Ernest Renan, Victorien Sardou, and Émile Zola. He also made portraits of Czar Nicholas II of Russia and members of the Imperial family (1896). His last work for Saint Petersburg was the bust of Czar Alexander III of Russia (erected in the Russian Museum garden, removed in 1918). All told, he sculpted approximately 300 portraits of Russian and European representatives of culture, science and politics, and sculpted some monuments. Bernstamm was made Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur in 1891 IMPORTANT: This lot is subject to VAT and the buyer must pay VAT on both the hammer and the buyer's premium at a rate of 20%
18TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL "Gentleman in wig with white stock and purple satin cloak", oil on canvas, unsigned, 76 cm x 63.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Painting has craqueleur throughout and some light general wear and scuffs, frame has some general wear and some small chips and areas of flaking, painting appears to have been re-lined, under UV light the picture is generally a fairly milky colour overall but does show up several patches of restoration and touch-up paint including to his face, clothing and a few areas to the background particularly around the edges. There is no provenance available for this lot. It has been consigned by a local private vendor.

Small tear to the left of her cloak, dirty and with some foxing.
Edwardian Cavalry Trooper’s Saddle Rug. A good and rare example for a regiment with white facings. Black lambskin, with scalloped white cloth edging, to front and rear sections. The centre section of soft leather. Moleskin lining complete with leather straps for attachment to a rolled cloak. The lining stamped ‘1/13’ and with WD mark above ‘64’. To the strap maker’s details and date 1905. Some minor wear, otherwise GC.
A LT. COMMANDER'S FULL DRESS UNIFORM FOR THE ROYAL NAVY, CIRCA 1920 by Gieves, Matthew & Seagrove and comprising bicorn hat with bullion tassles, epaulettes, sword belting, kid gloves, laced trousers, full dress tail coat and boat cloak, contained in two regulation tin trunks inscribed for 'A.G. Davidson, RN', together with three service medals from the Great War comprising the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal 1914-20 and Victory Medal (3) Alastair Gordon Davidson (1893-1974) entered the Service in 1906 as a Midshipman, spent WWI as a Sub Lt, promoted Lt in 1916 and Lt Cdr in 1924. He is thought to have served in H.M. Ships Seraph, Wessex, Wakeful and Viceroy during the 1920s as a Lieutenant Commander. He left the navy in 1936 as a Commander but then was recalled during WWII, appointed Captain and commanded the training ship Cardiff from 1942 to 1944.

A Japanese stoneware mustached Buddha seated in the lotus position his hands in his lap, wearing a floral decorated cloak in blue, red and green, 13cm high, late 19th / early 20th Century This is a mustached Buddha following in the images traditionally seen in Gandhara. Mark: 薩摩 峯月 Satsuma Hogetsu, with the Satsuma Shimazu clan mark.

An Anatolian banded flatweave, brown and cream with narrow red stripes, two narrow pale green stripes and a single motif embroidered in pale green, 20th century, 4ft. 6in. x 3ft. 1.37m. x 1m.; an Anatolian flatweave, 20th century, 3ft. 11in. x 2ft. 5in. 1.20m. x 0.74m. The plain olive green ground with details/small repairs(?) in contrasting coloured wool; some surface marks; and a Zemmour woman’s cloak, Middle Atlas, Morocco, 20th century, 5ft. 4in. x 2ft. 9in. 1.63m. x 0.84m. with horizontal bands of brocading; the three central bands decorated with tufts of wool in ivory and pink; additional plaited tie to one selvedge.
