Neil Leifer (photographer born 1942). MUHAMMAD ALI KO’S CLEVELAND WILLIAMS: HOUSTON, TEXAS, 14 NOVEMBER 1966. A stunning overhead colour action photograph showing Williams flat on his back on the canvas, whilst Ali returns to his corner in triumph, signed to the lower margin in ink by Muhammad Ali and Neil Leifer, numbered 72 of 350, unframed, tube rolled, the image 49.5cm., 19 1/2in. square; sold with two letters of authenticity (one signed by Leifer, the other by Thomas Hauser) and a letter of explanation (4). This photograph is quoted as being Neil Leifer’s personal career favourite, and said to be the only photograph by himself that hangs on the walls of his home. This remarkable image was achieved as a result of Leifer rigging up his camera 80ft. above the ring inside the Houston Astrodome. The image appears even more spectacular when hung diagonally with the symmetry seemingly dramatised
