A Pitcairn Island wooden basket with a walking stick the basket 19.5cm diameter, this lot is accompanied by a photograph and an explanation; The reverse of the photograph is inscribed "Man with hat on is the Chief Magistrate of Pitcairn Island - Mr Morris Young, man with back to camera is Mr Nelson Dyett, the Radio Officer, Pitcairn, who was a passenger on the author's ship. The author was Captain Gerald McCraith, his ship plyed between New Zealand and the UK, always calling in at Pitcairn. The lady in the photograph is most probably Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester who mentions in her autobiography visiting Pitcairn on board the 'Rangitan' in 1947"

Two pairs of binoculars, opera glasses and a folding camera. CONDITION REPORT: The large pair of binoculars are as they look in the image. That is well used. All lenses are present and correct but appear very dirty and there are scratches when the binoculars are looked through. The smaller pair of binoculars are again generally well used and dirty however the lenses are not scratched like the first pair. All lenses are present and correct. The case is tatty. The opera glasses operate as they should and all lenses are present and correct. The camera appears to be in good order with no significant issues and is in generally clean condition.

An E Leitz Wetzlar (Leica) camera lucida microscope attachment 13cm rectangular plate, adjustable lenses and clamp, the box inscribed Zeichen Apparat, 21.5cm wide c1930 A camera lucida is an optical device used as a drawing aid by artists.The camera lucida performs an optical superimposition of the subject being viewed upon the surface upon which the artist is drawing. The artist sees both scene and drawing surface simultaneously, as in a photographic double exposure.
