VERY Large Meagher Studio Portrait Camera on Cantilevered Stand. With a W Morley retailers label. Fitted with an un-named brass lens (focal length estimated at around 9") in a focusing mount and with one Waterhouse Stop. Bellows in poor condition & probably not light-tight! Internal shutter needs attention. Would make a splendid display item with a little work. GOLD* Plated, Limited Edition Polaroid SX-70 #0179. This working example of the world-famous Polaroid SX-70 Alpha 1 instant SLR camera is doubly special. Firstly it is a gold-plated version (when launched, the original packaging for this model carried a label stating it was 24crt gold plated) which is rare, but this is also a "Mildred Scheel" edition. Mrs Scheel founded the German Cancer Aid charity in the early 1970s. In the late 1970s a number of these cameras were produced with a facsimile of her signature on the side and the proceeds from their sale went to the charity. The actual number of "Mildred Scheel" special edition cameras produced varies between references. Most state that 1,000 were made and a few 500. Currently we are unable to find reference to examples of this cameras with a serial number over [0]500. This example is in working order and shows some slight scuff marks to the covering.
