Four non-aerial photos: photo interpretation modellers at work; crew loading a recce camera into an aeroplane; troops in Far East at rest on camp beds; and the belly side of a Boston III. 28 aerial photos, range suggests album may have used as a training aid. Targets taken include: industrial sites – Hagen in the Ruhr/oil wells nr Hannover/power station Essen, daylight attack Lorient 06/03/43, several Me 321 & Me 323 Gigant transports on and around runway plus a twin-fuselage He 111Z Gigant tug, camouflaged heavy flak ‘island’ Hamburg, Yugoslav airfield with Ju 52/Fi 156/Do 17 & Fw 58 identified, Trondheim U-boat pens under construction 19/07/42, French fleet burning at Toulon after scuttling, Tirpitz in Kiel dry dock, several post raid inc. Stettin/Essen 08/03/43/Cologne/Spezia, SS Europa at Bremen (Leni Riefenstahl sailed on her to New York 1930s). RAF bromide paper carton for 9in x 7in paper, date on label 13-4-42, with 12 photos c. 9” x 7” and two 5” x 4”. Several have the mission frisket along the top and some have pencil annotation to rear with mission details, inc. crew names. Flights from 1 PRU – Spitfire AB309 F/S Reeves, 540 Sqn – Mosquito DZ357 P/O Mortimer & Sgt Haney, 541 Sqn – Spitfire EN683 F/S Gravenstede, 544 Sqn - Mosquito F/O Buifield(?) & F/S Barron, targets inc. invasion barges, Toulouse airfield, northern France pre D-Day, Lyon factory, Mannheim, Stuttgart post-raid, Misburg post-raid clearly showing bomb craters. Sizes 13” x 10” to 9” x 7”.
