Lot 117

The standard Sierra that we all know and love was homologated in 1986 for Group A Touring Car Racing. That is to say, 5,000 units needed to be built by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and sold in this advanced state of tune. It didnt take long and this Blue Collar Hero was born. Latterly, it was announced that Mike Moreton was head of the team that planned to develop an Evolution Edition of the already formidable RS in order to make the car unbeatable on the racetracks and, in March 1987, Aston Martin Tickford was signed for the job of converting the 500 allocated cars. The Cosworth RS500 was announced in July 1987 and was homologated in August that same year. It had minor external cosmetic differences to its parent, the Sierra three-door Cosworth, the rear tailgate had a lower spoiler in addition to the upper whale-tail alongside discreet RS500 badging on the rear tailgate and front wings. A redesigned front bumper and spoiler to aid cooling and air flow, including the removal of the fog lamps and their replacement with intake grilles to supplement brake cooling. The example presented here today has just four previous keepers since it was built some 35 years ago and still retains the correct Recaro seats, tilting sunroof and Garrett turbo-charged, two-litre, five-speed gearbox. The spoked alloy wheels and Toyo rubber is in good order all round and with £2,500 recently spent under the bonnet including a new water pump and cambelt replacement, the vendor is certainly someone who cherished his possessions. Freshly serviced and with a new MoT test certificate, these are apex collectables and this, part of a collection for some time, will certainly generate interest.

Lot 132

Introduced at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, the V8 Vantage featured Aston Martin's advanced VH platform (bonded aluminium) architecture and a 4.3-litre 'quad-cam' dry-sump V8 developing some 380bhp and 302lbft. Available with a choice of manual or sportshift transmission, the newcomer was reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds and 175mph. One of the new and hugely competent range of motorcars Aston Martin now offer. With just four former owners from new this superb-looking example comes with the six-speed manual transmission, and 19€ seven-spoke alloy wheels. Presented in metallic black with a contrasting leather interior, it also benefits from a black power hood and comes complete with satellite navigation, air-conditioning, Aston Martin alarm system, auto dim rear view mirror, bright finish grille and Xenon HID headlamps. In good condition throughout, the Aston is supplied with a V5C registration document, many old MoT records, sundry invoices, Aston Martin books, and a MoT test certificate valid until July 2022. Arguably the prettiest of modern-day Aston Martins, the V8 Vantage model looks fantastic and is even more impressive to drive.Interested parties should note that contrary to the catalogue description this example has an automatic gearbox and is not a six-speed manual.

Lot 3

The registration number of XX11 BND supplied with a certificate of entitlement. Ideal for James Bond fans and would look fabulous on an Aston Martin.

Lot 95

Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1993, the Ian Callum styled DB7 began production in 1994 at a new factory in Bloxham, Oxfordshire. It was engineered in conjunction with Tom Walkinshaws TWR group who built the new supercharged six-cylinder engine. In 1999, the new DB7 Vantage with a V12 engine was revealed. It didnt just bring a new powertrain but more aggressive styling with a bigger front grille, new fog, side and indicator lights and imposing 18€ wheels. The Vantage interior leather trim was cut and sewn at a special trim shop at Newport Pagnell where the carpet and wood veneers were also prepared. With the launch of the new V12 engine in the DB7 Vantage, production of the earlier straight-six DB7 ended in mid-1999.Originally registered on 1st March 2003 this beautiful Aston Martin is finished in Mendip Blue, a colour which really suits the sleek coupé. Having covered a mere 40,777 miles from new, to be expected this Aston Martin presents in great order all round. The V12 engine burst into life immediately when requested and we are advised she drives with no known faults. With only two previous keepers, this DB7 is supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 22nd November 2022 together with a history folder. This is a great looking Aston Martin fitted with the fabulous V12 power plant and is ready to be enjoyed immediately.
