Ilinga. 'Over the Horizon'. Two identical brochures for this ill-fated car, 8pp including the card cover, with interior views, a double-page spread of the car from above, some specifications. One brochure with a 'Dawes & North Pty of Melbourne' rubber stamp on the cover, otherwise both units in good fettle. The Ilinga was by an Australian car manufacturer; founded in Melbourne by Tony Farrell and Daryl Davies, the company was in business between 1974 & 1975. The company's only model, the AF-2, saw only two examples produced, despite having apparently fifteen customers placing deposits. Presented at the 1975 Melbourne Motor Show, the AF-2 was promoted as a luxury sports car, built to compete with Porsche and Aston Martin. However, the 1973 oil crisis and high retail price chased many potential customers away. (2)
