2004 Aston Martin Vanquish to S-Specification Transmission: automaticMileage:19700The Vanquish is widely accepted as being one of the most important cars developed by Aston Martin and heavily influenced the direction of the company's line-up of sports cars in recent times. So much so, in fact, that the Newport Pagnell factory underwent an extensive refurbishment to accommodate it, gaining a new assembly line, paint shop, rolling road and water test facility. The genius that is Ian Callum, who developed the DB7, then turned his attention on the new Vanquish using a bonded aluminium tub as the core as well as carbon fibre struts welded to the backbone. All new engine management systems were used with drive-by-wire throttle control and a six-speed manual gearbox with an electro-hydraulic change mechanism matched to a hugely powerful six litre, V12 powerplant. It was an instant success and was the obvious choice for the nation's favourite secret agent. Sadly, it was the last Aston Martin to be built at Newport Pagnell with all future cars moving to Gaydon and using more production line-based build systems. The near-perfect and bespoke example offered here today was ordered at the Park Lane showrooms of Aston Martin by a gentleman from Surrey and registered in March 2004. It was fully equipped with all the latest extras including Connolly leather and Wilton carpeting throughout costing the princely sum of £165,000. The car presents with a full service history with, notably, a new and uprated 'S' clutch fitted in 2013. The mileage at that time was 15,683 however, the vehicle had very little use since that time as it changed hands to the present owner in March 2014 with the mileage showing just 15,753. During the current ownership it has been looked after regardless of cost and always serviced by accredited Aston Martin specialists and with the full-service history maintained. The current mileage is still only 19,700 so, amazingly, this has been kept and maintained regardless of cost, and benefits from a full-service history with just two recorded owners. Additionally, we are led to believe that the first owner always kept the car garaged as part of his private collection as indeed has the current owner. A new set of tyres were fitted in April 2020 with such a low mileage, this represents a well-deserved place in the annals of Aston Martin history as not only one of the last cars ever to leave its spiritual home but uprated to S-Specification and kept in truly remarkable condition throughout.

Lot 173

1998 Bentley Azure Widebody Symbolic Edition Transmission: automaticMileage:35000The Bentley Azure was launched in 1995 and was based on the platform of the Continental R which had been launched in 1991. The Azure intended to both convey a sense of presence and allow for comfortable seating of four adult passengers. Power came from the company's stalwart 6.75 litre, V8 featuring a single intercooled turbocharger. The gearbox was a General Motors sourced four-speed automatic unit with the Azure capable of 0-60mph in an impressive 6.1 seconds. Owing to the limited space at Bentley's Crewe factory, the Azure was designed and manufactured by Pininfarina, significantly adding to the vehicle's production cost. This unique and desirable Azure Symbolic Edition is finished in a special-order Mendip Blue (an Aston Martin colour) in deviation from the black that the other six cars were finished in with magnolia leather hide interior. A Mulliner commissioned example; this car had a number of non-standard features spanning two pages on the supplied specification details report. Sitting on 18" chrome wheels, this example also boasts the T-style console, Burr walnut veneers, the removal of side repeater flashers, flared arches, Bentley wings in the door waist rails and an uprated 420bhp engine boasting 875nm of torque to mention but a few of the non-standard features from new. The car was originally supplied to Bentley San Diego on 1st May 1998 and imported to the UK in 2018 from Florida with 13,000 miles on the odometer, where the seller informed us it had just had a $10,000 overhaul including the replacement of the hood hydraulic lines unfortunately, we do not have invoices for this within the history file. Since its arrival in the UK, the car has been cared for by Bowling-Ryan Ltd, Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialists in Bolton with the most and recent service in August 2022 coupled to previous services in 2018 and 2020. Supplied with handbooks, an MoT test certificate with no advisories and valid until April 2024, the Azure is not only one of the best cars to cruise the French Riviera but it is uniquely specified and rare which increases its potential for strong collectable values in the future.

Lot 177

1968 Aston Martin DB6 Transmission: manualMileage:7545The Aston Martin DB6 was launched at the London Motor Show in 1965, following on from the highly successful DB5, immortalised by the 1964 James Bond film 'Goldfinger'. The front of the DB6 was visually similar to the DB5 but closer inspection revealed quite a different car. The wheelbase was lengthened allowing additional passenger space in the rear along with a raised roof line. The profile of the rear quarter lights echoed those of the DB4 GT Zagato, a styling theme that continued through to the DBS and V8 models until production finished in 1990.Offered new by dealer D H Bloomer of Grimsby, this superb looking DB6 was registered new on 16th August 1968 to a Mr. Drink esq of Boston, Lincolnshire. Offered in Olive paintwork over a beige Connolly hide interior, the Aston was originally specified with options including power steering, a heated rear screen and chrome wire wheels.Restoration work was undertaken by Aston Service Dorset and Derek Watson Restoration in 1995. The DB6 was later sold in 1998 where it was dry stored and used occasionally until 2021 when our vendor acquired the car. During our vendors tenure, the car has been fully maintained by renowned marque specialists, Desmond J Smail Ltd of Olney and Aston Engineering of Derby.A very well-presented example, the paintwork retains a deep shine and is in very good order, as is the interior and engine bay showing a light patina as one would expect. Reported to run and drive very well indeed, this Aston comes complete with a sizeable history file including, many invoices for maintenance work, its current V5C registration document and previous MoT test certificates. This example having previously been the subject of restoration and having been maintained to a high standard throughout its life is a superb candidate for any enthusiast or collector looking for a very well presented and imminently usable DB6.

Lot 191

1966 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage Mk. I Transmission: manualMileage:73372The Aston Martin DB6 was launched at the London Motor Show in 1965, following on from the highly successful DB5, immortalised by the 1964 James Bond film 'Goldfinger'. The front of the DB6 was visually similar to the DB5 but closer inspection revealed quite a different car. The wheelbase was lengthened allowing additional passenger space in the rear along with a raised roof line. The profile of the rear quarter lights echoed those of the DB4 GT Zagato, a styling theme that continued through to the DBS and V8 models until production finished in 1990. Both front and rear bumpers were split into two pieces and the rear of the car was restyled with a Kamm tail which helped reduce aerodynamic drag and gave the car more stability at speed. The engine remained the same as the DB5 unit, a 3995cc twin overhead cam straight-six, the Vantage version offering a claimed 325bhp.This example is an original Vantage, boasting triple Weber 45DCOE carburettors and is beautifully presented in the timeless colour combination of Silver Birch with Dark Navy leather interior. Fitted with power steering and a Webasto roof, which our vendor says it actually a very welcome feature on hot summers days. First registered on 4th May 1966, then sold to a Mr & Mrs Kemp in 1969, who would keep the car until 1976 before selling it to another Mrs Kemp, who went on to keep the car until 2010. Our vendor purchased the car in 2011 and has cherished it ever since. The history file is extensive, with a record of works going all the way back to 1970. The car was largely unrestored when our vendor purchased it from the Aston Workshop, but he chose to have it repainted to freshen it up, and had the interior restored to, both now present beautifully. There are a few age-related marks on the edges of panels, but the general appearance of the car is excellent. The bumpers, wheel spinners and interior components were all re-chromed in 2013, they present well and retain a good shine. Our vendor has attended to many mechanical parts during his ownership, the engine received new valve guides, new valves (6x Vantage 2.1 inlet valves & 6x standard exhaust valves), head re-build, new cam followers, new calipers all round, carburettor rebuild, new bushes, new timing chain and tensioner, new water pump, the list goes on. If you are looking to add a DB6 to your collection, a Vantage is surely the one to have. It's nice to find an example which is virtually unrestored, the car has just been maintained and freshened up over the years, this example is ready to be enjoyed right away and our vendor reports it is always a joy to drive.Interested parties should note that this vehicle is sold without a V5C registration document. The vendor will provide a covering letter to enable the new keeper to apply for a V5C registration document by means of a V62 form.

Lot 160

2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R Transmission: automaticMileage:25389The GT R is a high-performance variant of the Mercedes-AMG GT and was introduced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2016. The M178 engine in this variant is tuned to an output of 577bhp and with 516 lb ft of torque. The GT R accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 198 mph. While the GT R retains the key mechanical differences the GT C gains over the GT S, it also gains manually adjustable Coilover springs, an active underbody fairing, a manually adjustable rear wing, and a nine-mode AMG Traction Control system. When it was launched, the GT R had several cosmetic changes compared with the standard car, notably the vertical slats in the front grille, an adjustable rear wing, new front air intakes and new front and rear diffusers. The styling of the GT R is more comparable to that of the AMG GT3 race car. For the 2018 Formula One World Championship, the GT R became the official Formula 1 safety car and during the 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix, the safety car ran a red livery rather than the traditional silver to commemorate Scuderia Ferrari's 1,000th Grand Prix start. For the 2021 F1 season, the GT R Safety Car permanently wore a red livery rather than the traditional silver to increase the chances of drivers seeing the Safety Car in poor visibility and shared the role with the Aston Martin Vantage. The GT R completed a lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife track in 7:10.92, in a test conducted by German magazine Sport Auto making it the fifth fastest lap time for a road-legal production vehicle around the track at the time. This example of the GT3 RS crushing GT R is presented in matte grey with contrasting black alloy wheels and boasts the uprated race seats to what is a fabulously plush cockpit given the incredible potential of this car under the bonnet. The 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 engine sounds incredible on start-up and being mounted so far back it is referred to as a front mid-engine example. With the gearbox over the rear puts the majority of the weight over the rear wheel drive axles producing a fabulously balanced car.Having covered a mere 25,389 miles, in August this year this example received it most recent Mercedes-Benz dealer history. This car was driven for the Historics 'Driving in Cars' series found on the Historics Auctions YouTube channel and Historics ambassador and auctioneer Vicki Butler-Henderson can testify to the incredible performance level with or without the traction control system engaged.Watch the Historics driving in cars episode featuring this AMG GTR!

Lot 252

2002 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante Transmission: automaticMileage:70270Introduced in 1993 to the public, the handsome new DB7 was styled by Ian Callum, its lines were evocative of earlier Aston Martin models and elements of the DB4/5/6 could be seen in its design. Arguably one of the most attractive looking cars ever produced by Aston Martin, the DB7 was well received and attracted new customers worldwide with its traditional layout of the curvaceous two-door coupé body. At the Geneva Motor Show in 1999, Aston Martin introduced the six litre Cosworth-designed and built V12 engine, developing 420bhp and accelerating from 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds with a top speed limited to 185mph. Ian Callum enlarged the grille, added fog lamps and restyled the valances to give the car a more aggressive look. This beautiful Aston Martin was originally registered on 22nd December 2002, the possibilities are it was a Christmas present. The Silver Birch coachwork is in great order as is the Parchment interior. The specification includes heated front screen and satellite navigation. We are advised this DB7 drives with no known faults and the Touchtronic gearbox operates as it should. A significant service history accompanies this Aston Martin confirming it has clearly been a very well looked after car. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 27th June 2024 and the original service books, this is certainly one of the prettiest Aston Martin DB7 Volantes we have seen for a while.

Lot 134

1995 Aston Martin DB7 Transmission: manualMileage:87699Introduced in 1993 to the public, the handsome new DB7 was Aston Martin's first six-cylinder model since production of the DBS had finished in 1971. Styled by Ian Callum, its lines were evocative of earlier Aston Martin models and elements of the DB4/5/6 could be seen. Arguably one of the most attractive looking cars ever produced by Aston Martin, the DB7 was well received and attracted new customers worldwide with its traditional layout of the curvaceous two door coupé body and robust six-cylinder engine. Regarded by many as the purist modern Aston Martin, the DB7 will undoubtedly be a collectable car for years to come and is equally at home in the city or out on the open road. This lovely and extremely rare example is presented in metallic grey with a grey leather interior and contrasting dark grey piping. The car comes with electric windows, electric seats, air conditioning and a comprehensive service history with 20 stamps in the service book and the present owner has had a service carried out with an Aston specialist costing £2,200 and the car has covered a mere 200 miles since. This is the rare manual gearbox example of which only 257 were made. In superb condition throughout and with a valid MoT test certificate until July 2024, this must be one of the best of this model available today.

Lot 145

1995 Rolls-Royce Flying Spur Transmission: automaticMileage:18000The Rolls-Royce advertising logo of making the best cars in the world was certainly relevant when the Flying Spur model was launched. This model was not just the fastest or most expensive Rolls-Royce saloon to appear on the price list but was also the most exclusive, only produced for the 1995 model year, a total of 134 were produced, 92 in left hand drive and 42 in right hand drive being delivered from the factory in Crewe. Apart from the restriction in numbers produced it was the first Rolls-Royce with the turbo engine and was the most powerful model on the market at the time. The factory announced that although weighing in at 2387kg this model could propel itself to 60mph in a remarkable 6.9 seconds. This newly turbocharged engine also produced the greatest torque of any production car at the time and eclipsed even the McLaren F1 and Aston Martin Vantage. Essentially a Rolls-Royce with Bentley Turbo R running gear, the Flying Spur was more powerful and agile than a comparative Rolls-Royce Silver Spur III, on which the car was based on.This fantastic low mileage Flying Spur has covered a mere 18,000 miles and it was number 23 off the production line and was delivered to H.R. Owen Greenford on 25th January 1995 before being shipped to its first owner in Hong Kong later that year, the only year in which these cars were produced. The car is presented in Wildberry with a sumptuous Sandstone leather interior with Wildberry piping, lambswool rugs and accompanying silk privacy curtains, burr oak veneers and cocktail cabinet. Sitting in the rear 'as one should' is a real treat and should you require entertainment the inbuilt Sony VCR system can entertain you from the screens mounted in the headrests. Look up to the electronically operated sunroof, all options for which the car had to be sent to Rolls-Royce in house coachbuilders, Mulliner Park Ward to fit alongside the touring limousine rear window and rear blind. It is an open secret that the rejected leather from Rolls-Royce went to their competitor Bentley, which underlines once again what perfectionist Rolls-Royce were and this example is no exception. The woodwork was often sanded for a week to get it to the right level and the interior of any Flying Spur clearly provides a nod as to their targeted audience, those of significant wealth or notoriety and despite attempts the elusive previous owner is yet to accept our vendors invitation to be named. Options specified from the factory beyond the coachbuilt items also include adjustable rear seats, chrome door mirrors, uprated infotainment, veneered picnic tables, passenger airbag and rear quarter badges to name a few which can all found on the Rolls-Royce order sheets contained within the history file. Our owner and Rolls-Royce collector purchased this car in Hong Kong in late 2022 with the car imported to the UK earlier this year. All be it in very good condition, when purchased it was then swiftly mechanically recommissioned the works carried out includes and is not limited to replacement of all six ball joints to the front (top, lower and damper), replaced caster arm bushes, all front brake calipers (two calipers on each side) serviced, seals renewed and all front brake pads have been replaced. Brake Lines have also been replaced as have the rear suspension spheres and rear damper hydraulic seals. An oil and filter change was then supplemented by new alternator and fan belts and new wiper blades. This example has since been detailed and UK registered with the V5C registration document present. The Flying Spur featured a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy, the spring-loaded mascot sank into the radiator shell, this along with the first turbo engine and a host of Mulliner Park Ward coachbuilt options makes what we believe to be a very collectable car. One of just 42 produced in right hand drive and truly unique with a mysterious but clearly wealthy previous owner, viewing is strongly advised to appreciate the luxury which Rolls-Royce are famed for.
