A PAIR OF LEAD WHIPPETS LATE 20TH CENTURY, IN THE MANNER OF THOMAS HOPE Mounted on bath stone bases 8sin. (21.5cm.) high, 30in. (76cm.) long (2) These modern lead models originate in design from the connoisseur/collector Thomas Hope (d.1831), and a settee in his Duchess Street mansion museum in London. The model is taken from a terracotta figure produced both by Mark Blanchard and Coade, the later is known to have supplied Hope with numerous pieces.
