A three piece Bergere lounge suite, circa 1930, double caned and with carved frame raised on short cabriole legs terminating in claw and ball feet. Settee width 190 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This suite is in really very good condition. The cane work on all panels is undamaged and nice and taut. There are no holes and no loose sections or any repairs. The suite is structurally very sound. We can see no evidence of any significant damage, repairs or restoration. There are the usual minor scuffs and marks that one would expect but no loose joints, no woodworm and no significant issues. The cushions are all in generally good condition. The suite is perfectly serviceable in its current state and does not require any work. The height of the settee to the top of the back rail is 83 cm. The seat depth is 62 cm from the front of the suite to the rear frame. The chairs are 83 cm in height and the seat depth is 62 cm.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany settee, raised on cabriole legs. CONDITION REPORT: The settee is structurally sound with no loose joints. There are some losses to the bone & boxwood inlay on the top rail. These are minor but visible on inspection. There are two small areas of loss to the shield beneath the padded back. The remainder of the inlay and stringing is in generally good condition. The fretwork is in good order with no losses or damage. The upholstery is a little stained in places but there are no holes. The braiding is detached around the centre oval panel. The piece is very dusty and could do with a clean and polish.
