A carved walnut framed settee, in the 18th century style, with a double-domed back above scrolling arms, upholstered in floral and foliate fabric, raised on lobed cup and cover supports united by a wavy stretcher, terminating in Spanish feet, 156cm wide, 96cm deep, 117cm high Provenance: Barrington Hall, EssexCondition report: Upholstery dirty and torn. Piping loose and off. Would benefit from re-upholstery. Knocks, wear and damage to frame and supports. Joints relatively solid. General wear.

A three piece walnut Bergere suite, with pierced and carved foliate decoration, double caned arm panels, and on angular cabriole leaf carved feet. Settee height including cushion 88cm, width 141cm, depth 79cm.Condition report: The cane work is generally ok, partly faded and worn, particularly to the settee, the green upholstery is also faded. One chair has a slight repair to the cane below one arm and the back rail has signs of woodworm. The settee appears somewhat sun faded to the timber. Extra images on David Lay website.
