A George III mahogany style sofa, with rollover arms, squab cushion and raised on blind fret carved front legs. Width 196 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This is not a period sofa. The description is incorrect it is a settee in the George III style. It is probably only 20 or 30 years old. The piece is structurally very sound and not loose at the joints. The only small area of damage to the mahogany that we can see is a small loss to the front right hand facing foot which should be visible on our image. The upholstery is in generally reasonable order however there is some staining and discolouration to the tops of both arms but more so the right hand facing arm. There is also discolouration to the front left hand bottom corner. It may be possible to have this cleaned as other than the dirt and discolouration the fabric is in good condition generally.
A pair of Victorian settees, of shaped outline, each raised on three well turned front legs, with three splayed rear legs and in the manner of Howard & Sons. Each width 183 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are no makers or manufactures marks on these settees. They require a full stripped down and full re-upholstery. Settee 1 - we can see no visible evidence of woodworm. All legs are solid and original and the under frames are substantial and there is no movement at the joints. The castors appear to be original and all match. The top frame appears solid however there is movement between the top of the back and the base. Settee 2 - exactly the same comments apply with reference to the legs and castors. The bottom and top frames appear solid and there is less movement between the two. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.

There are minor scratches and scuffs to the edges of both arms and around the feet as one would expect. There are however no significant issues with the settee.
