A Chinese black rosewood open settee, the curved back frame carved with birds, dragons, crayfish and crabs amongst foliage, the arms with splats carved with urns of fruiting foliage and terminating with Dogs of Fo resting on dolphin supports, the seat with a gadroon carved edge with pierced carved blossoming foliage friezes centred a panel with butterflies and insects alighting on foliage, the front cabriole legs on claw and ball feet, the back legs carved with rocky prunus. Second half 19th century. 4ft. 10in. (1.475m.) wide.
