A Victorian Chesterfield settee, with foliate patterned beige fabric with gold coloured piping and raised on turned front legs terminating in castors. Length +/- 190 cm, height to top of back 71 cm, seat depth 60 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The settee is structurally sound. There are no significantly loose joints. The legs are all in good order and the castors original. The upholstery is serviceable but does have some clicks, particularly to the scroll, the left hand scroll upright, the right and left hand sides and rear corners. This looks like cat scratching. This would improve simply by trimming the pulled sections of the material. Other than this damage the upholstery is certainly serviceable. There do not appear to be any holes or any significant staining. There is no significant fading and the colour is uniform. There are no springs protruding from the underside and the seat is not sagging.
