A Regency style mahogany framed settee, with upholstered back, sides and squab cushion in green and beige foliate patterned material and raised on turned tapered reeded legs. Width 198 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This settee is Regency style and not Regency period, hence the estimate. The settee may only be 30 years old at most. The mahogany frame is good quality and in generally good condition with a good colour. There are some minor scuffs and scratches but no structural issues. All joints are solid and the settee is very sound and usable if the upholstery suits. The piece has not been recovered. The upholstery is generally in good condition with only very minor insignificant marks. The braiding is slightly loose in places but all present. There are no holes in the fabric the cushion is down filled.
An Edwardian satinwood Bergere settee, small form, painted and raised on turned legs. Width 99 cm CONDITION REPORT: The cane work is in extremely good condition and is very taut. There is no sagging and no significant damage. The framework is in very good condition. Both arms are very slightly loose at the bottom joints where there is some minor movement. All legs are in good condition. There are no timber repairs, no damage and no restoration. The painted designs are all generally in good condition. There is one small paint loss to the right hand edge of the oval panel in the centre just through the white and black line and also a very small hairline fracture to the left hand side of the same panel. There are some minor scuffs and tiny losses to the painted pattern elsewhere on the piece but none of this is significant.
A Victorian rosewood framed settee, of serpentine outline, upholstered in pink and beige foliate patterned material and raised on front cabriole legs. CONDITION REPORT: The rear legs are in good order with no damage, repairs or restoration. The castors are original. They are not loose at the joints. All three front cabriole legs are structurally sound with no loose joints. The middle leg has a loose and detached castor with a crack to either side of the leg. There is no movement at this point but the crack is visible. The right hand leg has been broken at the foot and has a pinned repair. The repair is effective and strong. The front castors seem more modern than the rear castors. There is a crack through the carved pattern at the front edge of the showframe beneath each seat. There is a metal bracing hoop which is non-original between the front middle leg and the rear of the settee. The scroll arms are in generally good condition. The upholstery is in reasonable order although a little faded. There are no holes and the upholstery is serviceable if the colour scheme fits. There are some slight marks to the arms.
A late Victorian/Edwardian carved walnut settee, small form, with foliate carved showframe and raised on cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet. Width 142 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Height to top of centre of back 74 cm, height at lowest point 66 cm, seat depth at deepest point 53 cm at shallowest 48 cm. The upholstery is in generally good condition and perfectly serviceable. The piece is structurally very sound and there is no damage of any note to the frame or legs. We can see no evidence of any repairs or restoration. There is one small timber loss at the top of the left leg at the join which should be visible on our image.
An Edwardian mahogany Bergere lounge suite, comprising settee and two chairs, with swag and bellflower carved moulded exposed showframes and with double caned sides. Settee width 183 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The suite is in generally very good condition. The timber is heavy and good quality. There are no loose joints. The cane work to both chairs appears to be original. It is still nice and taut and there are no significantly damaged areas. There may be the odd very small break in the odd strand of cane but neither chair requires any cane work in our opinion. The settee is equally in very good condition from the caning point of view. There are a few more losses to the cane work than on the chairs. The rear right hand back panel has an area of approximately 2 cm square where there are a few strands of cane missing. The centre panel has no problems that we can see. The left panel has a small area to the centre with two or three strands of cane damaged or missing. The cane to both sides is in good condition. Again the settee does not require re-caning we are simply being careful with the description. The upholstery is generally good. If not original it is certainly old. We cannot see any holes or any significant damage to either the cushions or the panel beneath. There is some minor staining and one or two slightly worn areas but no significant problems. The springing appears to be sound and there are no holes underneath. If the upholstery suits then the suite could be used in its current condition without the need for any work.
A Queen Anne style two seater wing settee, upholstered in green cotton and raised on foliate carved cabriole legs terminating in claw and ball feet. Width across arms 138 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height to top of back 114 cm, depth of seat 60 cm. The cushions are down filled. The settee is structurally very sound with no visible damage or repairs to the legs. There is no movement at the joints. The upholstery is a little faded in places but is serviceable. There are no holes in the fabric and only minor old marks and dusty stains.
