ERCOL SOFA SETTEE AND ARMCHAIR

Lot 2004

A Queen Anne style settee, with serpentine top rail, studded arms, upholstered in a mushroom velvet type material and raised on turned and faceted legs united by turned stretchers. Width 170 cm, height to top of back 117 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The settee is structurally extremely sound. There are no loose joints and there is no damage to the visible parts of the wooden frame. The upholstery is generally in very good order and is fully serviceable. There is no staining and no significant wear to the fabric. There are no holes in the material. The piece has come from a very good property.

Lot 1981

An Edwardian beech parlour suite, comprising settee and four chairs, with pierced splat backs, upholstered seats and raised on turned front legs with stretchers. Settee width 107 cm.

A Victorian walnut framed double chair back settee, upholstered in beige velvet type material and with foliate carved exposed serpentine showframe and raised on cabriole legs terminating in castors. Width 196 cm.

Lot 1679

A Victorian walnut settee with pair of chairs to match, each being deep buttoned and pleated and with exposed carved showframe and with front cabriole legs terminating in castors. Settee width +/- 180 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The suite is in generally extremely good condition. It seems that the walnut showframe was re-polished and restored when the suite was re-upholstered, this is likely to have been in the region of 10 years ago. The upholstery is in first class condition. It does not look as if the suite has been used very much at all since the refurbishment. There are no loose joints or repairs to the legs. All castors are original. The exposed showframe has been re-polished. The suite could be used in its current state without the need for any work.
