1967 Airstream Overlander 26ft Transmission: manualMileage:Airstream is an American brand of caravans which are easily recognized by the distinctive shape of their rounded and polished aluminium coachwork. This body shape dates back to the 1930s and is based on designs created by Hawley Bowlus. Airstream trailers and recreational vehicles are manufactured in Jackson Center, Ohio. The company, now a division of Thor Industries, employs more than 800 people, and is the oldest in the industry. Airstreamers are a group who share a community spirit because of their common love of the trailers. In the early 1950s, Airstream company founder Wally Byam began leading groups of owners on travels to many parts of the world, where the towed trailers were quite a remarkable sight. Photos taken of the trailers in front of many famous tourist sites were common. This promoted a mystique which surrounded Airstreams that persists to this day.This well preserved 1967 26ft Overlander by Airstream International is presented here in its iconic polished aluminium found outside and within. Offering modern creature comforts after an interior restoration which kept the retro feel but introduced modern plug points and electrics, cookers/hob and lighting. The seating/dining area is trimmed in red to match the diner style and the food preparation area is equally as impressive. The kitchen surface is finished in a light beech and complemented with wipe clean white doors to form a space more commonly seen in high-end domestic kitchens than in anything on wheels. 2012 Jaguar XKR Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:49150The XK8 was launched in 1996 to replace the XJ-S. Two body styles were produced, a coupé and a convertible and the car was the first in the Jaguar line-up to use Jaguar's newly developed V8 engine. In 2000, the supercharged XKR was added to the range. This produced a staggering 503 horsepower, a subtle rear spoiler, wire mesh front grille and red exterior emblems were identifying features. The XKR's engine was made in England, the ignition system was from NGK in Japan, the transmission was a Mercedes-Benz 722.6, the lighting system was by Valeo in France and the supercharger was made by Eaton in the USA, it was truly a world car. The redesigned XK was styled by Jaguar's chief designer Ian Callum of Aston Martin. The standard XK model has a limited top speed of 158mph whilst the XKR had a limited top speed of 174mph.First registered on 17th May 2012, this fantastic XKR was built towards the end of the XKR's production run. A desirable convertible model, this 174mph monster presents beautifully in black with black interior and has recently benefitted from having almost £3,000 spent on it with work including refurbishing and refitting the supercharger, replacing the gearbox oil cooler, replacing the timing chains, tensioners and guides, having the pedestrian sensors replaced as well as having a general service carried out. The mohair roof is in good condition and the roof mechanism reportedly works without fault. With five stamps in the service book, two of which are from main dealers and the recent expenditure, this clean late model example offers supercar thrills at a very reasonable price point, especially when one considered these cars cost £70,000 new! The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well with no issues and is only selling to downsize his collection.Supplied with a V5C registration document, valid MoT test certificate valid through September 2024, receipts and original stamped service book. 1964 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Transmission: automaticMileage:19562Launched in 1962, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III and its Bentley S3 equivalent employed the 6.2 litre aluminium-alloy V8 engine first introduced in the Silver Cloud II although with larger carburettors, new distributor and raised compression ratio. It also came with a four speed GM derived automatic gearbox as standard equipment. Most obvious, among many changes from the preceding models, was the adoption of four headlamp lighting, the absence of sidelights from the wing tops and a slightly lower radiator shell. Inside, there was improved accommodation with separate front seats and increased room for rear passengers. Notable as the last mainstream Rolls-Royce to employ a separate chassis, the Silver Cloud III remained in production until superseded by the unitary-construction Silver Shadow in late 1965. The Cloud represented a supremely elegant design and is often regarded as the last true Rolls-Royce.This beautifully presented Cloud III was first registered on 3RD February 1964 and is now finished in a two tone blue over grey coachwork with complimentary grey leather trim. Owned since 2005 by our vendor's father, this was as described his pride and joy. This is demonstrated by the level of maintenance and expense lavished on SFU179 with Rolls Royce and Bentley specialist Harvey Wash Ltd most recently. The Paintwork shows little signs of age having clearly been restored and the woodwork is again in very good condition adding to the opulence. The leather seats in both the front and back are supportive and as to be expected, luxurious. Having been stored for a few years, the car performed very well on a recent short drive to Windsor for its photoshoot in the Royal Borough and the storage facility owned by a good friend of the owner's family stated that the car was started regularly. Supplied with V5C registration document, original handbook, a history file with recent invoices and with only 2,044 standard steel saloons built between 1962 and 1966, it is rare to find such a good example and estimated very reasonably. A car that was well loved by both the owner and his family and fitted with modern seatbelts front and back, this is a fabulously restored and very well cared for example.

Circle of Juan de Valdés Leal, Spanish 1622-1690- Saint Apollonia; oil on canvas, 157 x 105 cm. Provenance: The Collection of Anton Casamor, Bonhams, London, 11 April 2018, lot 185. Private Collection, UK. Note: The present work depicts Saint Apollonia (d.249), an Alexandrian saint who, according to Christian tradition, was martyred during the persecution of Decius (c.201-251). Apollonia's torture was believed to have included the pulling and shattering of her teeth, which has led to her association with teeth, as she has been adopted as the patron saint of dentistry. Apollonia was typically depicted by 17th-century artists as holding a tooth in pincers, as in Francisco de Zurbarán's (1598-1664) 1636 painting of the Saint, now in the Louvre [M.I. 724], and in the present work. The present painting is heavily reminiscent of the dramatic religious scenes of the Baroque painter De Valdés Leal, who studied under Antonio del Castillo (1616-1668) in Córdoba. This is particularly evident in the artist's depiction of the flowing drapery of Saint Apollonia's clothing, and in theatrical lighting of the scene from above.
Maurice William Greiffenhagen, RA, British 1862-1931- Portrait of Mrs Bury Barry holding a rose; oil on canvas, oval, signed and inscribed 'MAURICE GREIFFENHAGEN / 2 LONDON RD N.W. / [PORTR]AIT OF MRS BURY BARRY' on the upper stretcher bar, oval, 91.5 x 71 cm. Provenance: with the Art Exhibitions Bureau, London. Anon. sale, Christie's, London, 23 March 2016, lot 39. Note: Greiffenhagen worked as a painter, illustrator and graphic designer and taught at the Glasgow School of Art from 1906 to 1926. His output was widely varied, ranging from stylised graphic work, to more formal, restrained portraits, and to his somewhat fantastical mythical and allegorical scenes. One of his most celebrated works amongst contemporaries was his sensual and atmospheric 1891 painting 'An Idyll', which inspired the 1911 novel 'The White Peacock' by D.H. Lawrence (1885-1930). The present work combines Greiffenhagen's skill as a portraitist and his tendencies towards theatricality and romance, in part effectively conveyed by the dramatic lighting, which highlights the sitter's skin revealed by the low neckline of her dress, and the rose which she holds to her chest and which matches the red of her blushing cheeks.
After Jacques Stella, French 1596-1657- Angels Adoring the Sleeping Christ; oil on panel, 27.2 x 34 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: The present work is a copy of Gérard Edelinck's (1640-1707) 1667 engraving which is itself after Stella's original - which sold at Sotheby's, New York, on 27 January 2011 (lot 313) - reversed and with minor alterations. Stella is known as one of the leading forces of the neoclassical movement of Parisian Atticism, alongside contemporaries such as Laurent de la Hyre (1606-1656) and Eustache le Sueur (1617-1655), and was heavily influenced by the approach of his close friend, Nicolas Poussin (1594-1665). Stella's compositions are typically imbued with a particular theatricality through the dramatic lighting he evokes, contrasting the illumination of the figures with the dark background beyond.
Burr walnut cocktail cabinet, two doors enclosing a fitted interior, two drawers, cabriole legs, width 86cm, depth 53cm, height 147cm.Condition report:In good overall condition, the top surface has some water staining and variation in colour. Just to the right of the main escutcheon on the right hand cupboard there is a 5cm darm ingrained line where the veener has started to split slightly. Otherwise the exterior has just a few odd marks through use. The interior is pretty clean, some scratching to the inner left hand cupboard door, and scratches to the finger recess of the mirrored slide. The lighting has not been tested as working.
1961 Moto Parilla 250 Wildcat Registration Number: 294 UYV Frame Number: 700537 Engine No 700537 This machine is a rare beast. The Wildcat was a “USA-only” product of the Moto Parilla factory, made for the huge off-road and competition market. Designed with off-road in mind, it had an immensely strong “full-loop” frame (unlike the road bikes) and was fitted with top class Ceriani GP 35mm front forks (with damping adjustment from the saddle) and adjustable Ceriani rear shocks. Completing the high specification was a 7 litre tank, steering damper and steel based, leather covered seat. The engine was, at the time, the most powerful 250cc single engine in production with 26 bhp claimed. The Wildcat shared the same tune as the road-racing GS 250 model, with high compression piston, x1 cam (50/80/80/50 timing), 28mm Dellorto SSI carburettor and remote SS2 float bowl. Most Wildcats were bought as pure off-roaders with no intention of conforming to any road legalities such as lighting, instruments or silencing. A small number were sold with an optional “Enduro” kit which provided lighting with a headlamp and mounting “ears” at the front and a rear tail light and stop light switch. An extra coil fitted in the CEV 6055 magneto provided “direct” lighting and power for the stop light. This machine, equipped with the lighting kit and optional tachometer, started life in the UK in a batch imported by the UK concessionaire, and possibly sold via Comerfords in London. Around 30 machines were taken in a deal when the factory was effectively in receivership, but strangely no one outside the Parilla board knew this! This led to great difficulty in getting any spares for the Wildcats, as they were unique models in the range, sharing no cycle parts and only major engine components such as crankcases and barrels with other 250 models. Several of those bikes were used as parts “donors”, being stripped as required to keep customer bikes going or to repair them after crashes. Some Wildcats were “scrambled” by famous names such as world champion Dave Bickers, so one can imagine some damage was caused to the race bikes. This particular bike started out as “New Old Stock”, a new and unused engine, frame and swing arm unit which was bought from an enthusiast in Devon who had many years ago acquired several complete and incomplete Parilla models. Both engine and frame shared the same serial number so it was an obvious move to rebuild the bike to a high standard using the best original components available. It has been subject to a thorough restoration mechanically and cosmetically. Externally it is as near to 100% original as possible. Original gas tank, forks, mudguards and other missing components were located or came from a stock of new/old stock parts. Replica parts were not used other than the silencer to make it possible to use on the road. Internally the engine was checked over but being unused needed little work other than replacement of seals. In current ownership the following work has been completed: · All frame parts were powder coated gloss black. · All fork parts were powder coated wrinkle black as original · Fork stanchions hard chromed · OE fasteners and fittings were re-plated with dull zinc · All OE chrome work was re-plated to UK standards · Fuel tank de-rusted internally and refinished to OE standards and pattern · New gas taps were commissioned from the original manufacturers · The seat was repacked and recovered in Italy to ensure the exact stitching methods used were replicated · The wheel rims were replaced with flangeless alloy units and rebuilt using stainless spokes · New tyres fitted The Wildcat has been fitted with a custom made stainless steel “silenced” version of the original megaphone exhaust pipe, to tame a few of the many decibels produced by what is basically a “full race” ‘60’s engine tune. The lighting kit is not fitted at this point but an OE kit was supplied. In good running order (the engine was rebuilt by a renowned UK Parilla specialist). This rare bike comes with a certificate of authenticity and history file.
1935 Triumph 2/1 250 OHV Twin Port Registration Number: BHT 458 Frame Number: IR5 1470 - In current ownership since 1978 One of the first single-cylinder models designed by Val Page on joining Triumph, the 2/1 was designed to be a simple entry level machine, but in fact proved to be expensive to produce. In terms of naming, the first number relates to the capacity, the second number is the model number in the range. So 2/1 is the first model in the 250 range (whereas the 2/5 was the top of the range). The Model 2/1's engine was excellent, but as it shared much else with the 350cc range, although robust it was deemed a little on the heavy side at the time. The 2/1 was fitted with 6 volt electrics and Magdyno lighting, and an electric horn. The 3 speed gearbox could be upgraded to 4 speed for an extra 30 shillings. The model survived until the first of the new Tigers came out in 1937. First registered in March 1935 to the Bristol area of England, this 2/1 has remained in the area ever since, being in the current owner’s collection since 1978. The bike is complete and in the main original, with the exception of the oil pressure indicator. The engine (SL1936) and gearbox (L277) are believed to be original. Offered for the first time in over 45 years, this lovely machine is recorded on the VMCC register, the 2/1 is offered with a file of information and receipts.

The Triumph has been in current ownership since 1987 (with 5 owners in total), and retains its original engine (IR6 2527) and gearbox (L6.1566). This fine machine is recorded on the VMCC register, and is supplied with original buff registration document, also a file of information and parts receipts.

1912 Rover 12hpRegistration No LH 3594Chassis Number 963Engine No OB963VCC Dating No EP0135The name Rover Cars will be well known to young and old alike being one of the oldest names in British motoring. Like many early manufacturers, their roots lie firmly in the bicycle industry when John Kemp Starley introduced the Safety Cycle. With its chain drive and wheels of almost equal size it was a great improvement on the traditional Ordinary better known as the Penny Farthing. Rover Cars came into being in 1904 starting with small single cylinder vehicles. Rover introduced larger cars from 1905 and had some success in the TT Races especially in 1907, when they won with a margin of over 12 minutes from the second placed Humber. The Company then made a few sleeve valve cars with engines supplied by Daimler, but these were swept aside when in 1910 noted designer Owen Clegg arrived from Wolseley. He gave Rover one of their most successful designs the 12HP. It was of conventional design with a 2297cc engine, L head monobloc worm drive and electric lighting. Sales rose from 883 in 1911 to 1943 in 1914. When WW1 started the Rover was not considered large enough for military purposes so Rover switched to building the 12/16 Sunbeam under licence. Clegg left Rover for Darracq in 1912 but his 12 was continued until 1924 with little change.LH 3594 is one of the few Edwardian cars that has not only had four owners, but that its full and interesting history is known. The vendor’s late husband was sensible enough to write an article detailing this history so it wasn’t lost. It would appear that the Rover was purchased new by a Dr Elliot in the Fleet area of Hampshire. By the 1930’s Dr Elliot had become too old to drive and if the weather was good he engaged the owner of a local Rover Agency, Mr. Wilfred Stevens, to drive him around his old practice area of Winchfield. Stevens and Sons has always serviced and maintained the car. At the outbreak of war in 1939 Dr Elliot instructed Stevens to melt the car down so it could be used in the manufacture of the legendary Spitfire aeroplane as he probably wouldn’t be around after the war. Stevens stored the car at a large property close by called ‘Clairmont’. After the war, the property was sold to developers who found the old Rover in a shed and contacted Stevens to have the car removed. Stevens was mortified that he had forgotten all about the car and Dr Elliot’s wishes. By this time the engine was seized, the upholstery had been eaten by rodents and the original paintwork had been destroyed.In 1946 Wilf Stevens embarked on a program of works to restore the car. The colour was changed from ‘Sparrow Egg’ to Rover Green, which the car still wears. Things moved slowly when in 1962 the son, Ian Stevens, took over and recorded the remainder of the work that he carried out. The radiator was overhauled, the upholstery renewed, the magneto rebuilt and all other mechanical work finished. In August 1965 the car was transferred into Ian’s name. He continued to maintain the car to a high standard and after many years of trying, the vendor was able to purchase the car in 2012.The car is of an older restoration, but it is testimony to the restoration works carried out that the car still presents very well and now looks nicely mellowed. The vendor and her late husband used the car extensively on VCC, VSCC and many other events. One notable tour involved taking the car to France for a Commemoration of WW1 of which there are many articles in the file. It retains much of its originality and has the original engine and bodywork. There is a full complement of instruments and lights fitted. The car has been issued with a VCC Events Passport to enable it to run in that Club’s event and should be eligible to receive a full dating certificate subject to the necessary paperwork being submitted.Estimate: £25,000 - 28,000
1922 Hillman 11 HPRegistration number NK4362Chassis No. 426 Engine No. 104/H/426. Like many owners of early car companies in the UK, William Hillman had made his fortune making bicycles. When he wanted to move into car manufacturing he went into partnership with a young Breton engineer called Louis Coatalen who was the then Chief Engineer at Humber. The Company Hillman-Coatalen was formed in 1907 and the first cars had large engines of 6.4 and 9.6 litre engines. A smaller 2.7 litre joined the range in 1908. The partnership was dissolved in 1909 when Coatalen moved to Sunbeam and the Company was then known just as the Hillman Motor Car Company. The 12/15 design was continued until 1913 when A J Dawson who overhauled it and Hillman embarked on a single model policy, the 9 HP. The Nine horsepower sold reasonably well and the engine size increased to 1593 cc, 10 HP. When Dawson left Hillman to start his own Company John Black, Hillman’s son-in-law, took over where Dawson left off. The design continued unchanged, apart from the addition of electric lighting, until the model was discontinued in 1925.This particular car is believed to be one of only two of this model known to The Hillman Register. The two-seat body with dickey seat is attractively presented in red with black wings and the car has been restored in the past. The interior trim is leather and in good condition. The bodywork was constructed by the renowned firm Vanden Plas. The car is fitted with a full complement of brass Lucas lamps and, as from new, retains its Scott dynamotor and magneto ignition. There is a small history file going back a number of years. Included in this is correspondence between the owner in 1964 and the National Motor Museum, articles from The Autocar, a copy of a page on The 1921 Hillman Ten by Michael Sedgwick, technical specifications and a copy of a wiring diagram. Interestingly there is also a letter on file from Hillman Motor Car Co Ltd dated 1961 when the then owner was about to embark on a restoration and some photos taken in the 1960’s prior to this restoration. Charles Marion Russell (USA, 1864-1926) Portrait of Royal Canadian Regiment Private, 1888 Watercolour & pencil on paper Signed with the initials CMR to bottom left Measures approx. 19.5cm x 28.5cm (7.5" x 11") Framed & glazed A watercolour on paper painting depicting a seated Private from the Royal Canadian Regiment lighting up a pipe. Inscription reading ' To Al from CMR. 1888 ' to bottom left. RUSSELL, CHARLES MARION, artist; born 19th March 1864 in St Louis, Missouri, to Charles Silas Russell (1833–1917) and Mary Mead Russell (1835–1895). His first visit to Canada was a key event in Russell’s life. He rode north from Helena, Montana, with two friends in late May 1888. Russell spends about three months in Alberta, and reportedly spends time with local Blood (Kainai) Indians. Russell returned to Helena in September, leaving behind some sketches, a finished painting of a bear, and, most impressively, an ambitious oil that he gave to Blunt, Canadian mounted police bringing in Red Indian prisoners, recording an incident witnessed on the ride north in May. In later paintings and drawings he would honour the mounted police as symbols of justice on the Canadian frontier, a notable subject for an artist who ignored the United States army’s role in “winning the west” and sympathized with the Indians in their resistance to white advance.
