Cinema - Charioteer ceiling light, from the Tivoli, Wimborne, circa. 1930 History - Manufactured by Hailwood & Ackroyd of Morley, Leeds. They were prolific & innovative in making decorative lighting during the 1920`s & 30`s specialising in cased glass. The Charioteer design first went into production in 1928 heavily influenced by the epic release of Ben Hur (The MGM silent film starring Roman Navarro which was released in the UK in 1927). Many cinema architects & owners used Haliware catalogues to select suitable light fittings for cinema interiors throughout the 1930`s 7 x 17in. (18 x 43cm)

The arrangement and lighting of Ricci`s designs are surprisingly similar to Canaletto`s vedute, (large scale cityscapes or other vista). The Courtyard of a Country House is one of a set of thirty-two drawings in tempera by Marco Ricci. The inscription on the back suggests that some (at least) of the set were painted for the Consul?s wife.Print size inches: 8.9 x 6

First appearing in the Dr Who series in 1963, the Race of Daleks have remained the scourge of The Doctor and various planets throughout the past 50 years of the iconic TV series. The word Dalek can now be found in dictionaries worldwide and in a 2008 survey of children 9 out 10 could correctly identify a Dalek. They are without doubt as well known as the Doctor himself. The Cheshire-based company "This planet earth " is the only business which has been licensed by the BBC and the Terry Nation Estate to produce full-size TV Dalek replicas. This model features a remote control electronic voice and lighting.
