A 19th Century four-poster bedWith a cavetto cornice above three pole rails supported on two front uprights each spirally lobbed and carved with acorns and oak leaves, the plain supports of square section joined by a panelled headboard, with later substantial pine bed slats and some alterations, 200 x 230 x 153cm.

A VENETIAN 'SILKWORK' BED, the bed with a raised headboard with scrolling outline mounted with 17th century polychrome needlework of elaborate flowers and foliage amongst silver thread, with similarly mounted side rails, the headboard 52.5" high x 63" wide, the bed frame 63" x 79". A Victorian mahogany 4' bed, the headboard with moulded cornice and deep buttoned upholstered back, with slatted base and turned columns to the bed foot. CONDITION REPORT: Height to top of bed head 147 cm, width across bed head 142 cm, height to top of bed foot 118 cm, width across bed base 121 cm, length between bed head and bed foot 189 cm. The bed is structurally very sound. The bed head and foot are in very good condition with only minor scratches and scuffs to the mahogany as one would expect. The upholstery to the bed head is also in very good condition. The bed base has been altered substantially presumably to accommodate more modern mattress lengths. The principal framing is Victorian however the supporting slats are all pine. The piece is structurally very sound and serviceable. The castors to the head and foot are different. It is possible that the bed head and foot are from two different Victorian beds.
A 19th century Continental stained beech and hardwood four post bed, the headboard carved with a heraldic shield surmounted by a crown and flanked by beasts, the foot board carved with the motto 'SIVIS PACEM PARA BELLUM', with turned hardwood posts a foliate carved canopy - adapted 231 x 185½ x 228cm (90 x 72 x 89in) Provenance: Purchased at auction at Christie's South Kensington on 5 January 2010 (Lot 124 Sale 5658).
An imposing 19th Century Italian walnut 5ft four poster bedstead, the full canopy with deep moulded overhanging cornice, carved with lions mask and swag ornament, supported on four turned, fluted and leaf capped uprights, the bulbous lower sections also carved with lions masks, the high panelled headboard with boldly carved oval cartouche, carved with crown, two dolphins and leaf scroll ornament and flanked by heavy turned and reeded columns, the footboard carved with mask, swag and cornucopia ornament, flanked by bulbous turned and lobbed supports, on turned feet, 65ins wide x 88ins long x 98ins high
