A late Victorian 19th century solid mahogany single four poster bed. The footboard with tall tapering reeded columns having finial mounts. United to the back board by original wooden base. Headboard with panel back, all under a flared peripheral pediment. Measures 215cms high x 215cms long x 123cms wide ( at top pediment )
An oak double bedstead in the 17th Century Flemish taste, the headboard with foliate carved panel decoration and galleried top flanked by turned column supports, the footboard similarly decorated and with three figural panels raised on squat bun feet, 151 cm wide x 223 cm long CONDITION REPORTS Scratches throughout and some minor losses, chips, etc. The bed appears to have had some work, areas are polished and varnished. Bolts are present - unsure if these are original. Bed is finished on both sides but not ends. No signs of rot or worm. Bed wobbles but this appears to be more through top-heavy design and bolts needing to be tightened. There are some minor splits to the woodwork throughout but not structurally detrimental. There appears to be a piece missing from the headrest on the back. A few minor repairs and re-glueing of some molding, etc. may be required. Approximately 145cm - measured across from outside of side rail to outside of side rail. Inside of side rail to inside of side rail is approximately 135cm. The internal length of side rails not including their tongue joints is approximately 200.5cm. There are no brass ormolu mounts on the bed. Otherwise general wear and tear commensurate with age and use to include knocks, bumps, etc. Section missing as already described. See images for more detail.
