A pair of 'Lygon' oak single beds, with chequer inlaid beading, each with headboard having serpentine top above a chamfered lattice, above panelling, the footboard similarly panelled, includes side rails and bases (10) each bed; 93cm wide, 138.5cm high, 200cm long. Note: Bears label inscribed; 'This piece, a bed in English oak, no. 179, was designed and made throughout in the Russell Workshops in Oct/Nov 1925. Designer; S. Gordon Russell, Foreman; E. A Superb 17th Century & Later English Oak Full Tester Bed. The tester having a moulded cornice and foliated lunette friezes, twelve panels with rosette filled lozenge carved detail and scrolling motifs to each corner. The bulbous posts enriched with wrythen ball-flowers and gadrooned cup & cover turnings above square lower sections. The headboard with a nulled frieze centred by a rosette above a pair of recessed panels profusely carved with further rosettes and framed in dentil moulding with an outer band of dog-tooth inlay and chains of ball flowers leading down the muntins. The four panel lower section joined by side rails.
A Fabulous Carved & Inlaid Oak Full Tester Bed of generous proportions. The twelve panel tester having a moulded cornice and lunette carved frieze. The headboard with two arcaded panels below two upper horizontal panels inlaid with scrolling flowers and foliage, with a carved band of S-scrolls running along the top centred by a date 1661, and four plain lower panels. The dividing pilasters enriched with foliage and bearing scrolling capitals. The free-standing foot posts with bulbous cup& cover turnings; the 'cups' carved with winged cherubs and separated from the gadrooned 'covers' by rings of beading. The palmate columns tapering up to smaller carved swellings, the square base sections having recessed edge-moulded panels carved with rising flowers. 65 ins (165 cms) wide, 93 ins (236 cms) in length.

A late Victorian 5ft. double bed with ornate panelled mahogany headboard decorated with applied carved scrolling pediment, the central panel below decorated with inlaid satinwood and ornate foliate scrolls, the panelled foot board centred by a carved shield in relief, bordered by satinwood panels and scrolls, 5ft. wide.
