Georgian style mahogany super king size four poster bed with fine upholstery, the carved and reeded mahogany columns with wheat sheaf and turned decoration, fits a mattress of approximately 5'6" (168cm) wide x 7' (214cm) length. Overall height approximately 244cm high x 222cm length x 173cm wide, purchased from Beaudesert, Sloane Square, London, 1986 for £3,483Very good solid condition , some of the silk edging on the pelmet is loose but present . All of the drapes, headboard, bed base, bed cover, cushions etc are included as per the photographs with the exception of the mattress which is not included.The base is sprung and 49 cm high

A Louis XIV-Style Kingwood and Brass-Inlaid 5' Bedstead, late 19th century, the panelled headboard surmounted by a moulded pediment with moulded roundel and gilt lettering flanked by acanthus carved finials, the moulded footboard joined by brass-strung side rails, on turned feet with brass-capped toes and castors, 167cm by 216cm by 144cmGenerally good condition with the exception of some variations in colour, mainly fading around the headboard. Small sections of brass stringing starting to lift or missing. Bed has a drop-in divan base but no mattress. The bed base is useable but probably needs replacing as there is some staining and some faults around the corners. The dimensions as catalogued are the maximum measurements, 167cm wide by 216cm long by 144cm high. Distance between the side rails takes a 5" mattress.
