TOUZEL) DIED C1801.", 25cm, maker JQ stamped twice for Jacques QUESNEL I, 1002g http://www.theislandwiki.org/index.php/General_Helier_Touzel Provenance: For the first time on the market since it was originally sold, brought in for sale by a descendant of the original ownerN.B. Pot is a very heavy gauge silver and in very clean condition, heavy solder to the base presumably a repair. The engraving is in two parts: the first, of a noticeably different style, being IEANE LE COUTEUR. The first name is missing an N, but not unusual for spelling mistakes to be made at the time and there is a small upwards 'arrow' underneath the N. The second part of the engraving is much deeper and obviously much later after Touzel reached the rank of General. The vendor's mother's maiden name was Rosemary Touzel Wynne-Edwards
