Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928 Vienna - 2000 Brisbane) (F)'Look at it on a rainy day', 10-pcs, Rainy day folder, in original wooden case with color cover embossing, 10 color silkscreen prints with metal embossing on different papers, 1971/1972, 49 cm x 66,5 cm sheet dimensions, each in print with embossing signatures, 02789/3000 numbered, some with embossing stamps, case handsigned, 2789 numbered, sheet 9 signed by hand, 279/300 numbered, sheets sporadically spotted, foxed, partially slightly wavy, sporadically slightly faded, sheet margins partially minimally torn, wooden case partially bumped, with small paint and wood chips, literature: Cat. rais. Koschatzky/Kertész 44-53. Fürst HWG 44-53Friedensreich Hundertwasser has made a name for himself worldwide as a painter, sculptor, architect and visionary of the 20th century. His work includes greened and planted buildings as well as architecture that is close to nature. Equally influential are his paintings with organic forms and his detailed graphics. Time and again he emerged as an ''opponent of the straight line'' and was honoured for his commitment to the environment and his home city of Vienna. Hundertwasser rejected everything conservative, which in his opinion symbolised war. He strove to overcome heaviness through the liveliness of his art. His works were characterised by utopian ideas in which fantasy, form and colour created a symbiosis of energy and creativity. The Danube in particular, which flows through Vienna as a living place and natural space, exerted a special attraction on him. n his works, Hundertwasser uses flowing forms such as spirals and symbolic cycles of life. His creative power was intended to meet human needs and at the same time overcome the architecture of the post-war period and the suffering of the war years. He provoked with questions such as ''Why not let trees grow out of the window?'' and championed ecological protest with artistic posters. Hundertwasser's goal was to unite man and nature. He strived for a future in which nature is in harmony with the elements of fire, water, earth and air. For him, rain was just as important, and he described each raindrop as a kiss where heaven touches earth.
