A Longton Hall ovoid mug printed by Sadler of Liverpool with the arms of the Society of Bucks, the print inscribed Sadler Liverpool, 16cm high, circa 1760 (rim chip). See Phillips, The Watney Collection part III, 1st November 2000 lot 870 for a similar mug. It is thought possible that Sadler’s bought many Longton Hall mugs in the white as a vehicle for their prints.
