Bijin-ga Portrait of a Young Lady threading a Needle, woodblock print, 365 x 235mm., unexamined out of frame, printed in the limited pastel colours of the beni-girai, slight fading, and surface wear, light creasing, with censor seal and publisher's seal of Yeijudo of Yedo, framed and glazed, 1790s; with 8 other Japanese colour woodblock prints, including a memorial portrait of an artist by Toyokuni and a warrior hero of the Seikoden by Kuniyoshi, also a panoramic triptych of an army marching around a bay, average 360 x 245mm., the triptych 345 x 710mm., occasional surface dirt and slight damp-staining, minor losses at edges of three prints, three others in frames, 19th century (9).

Bijin-ga Portrait of a Young Lady Writing, against a calligraphic background of floating pages of script, colour woodblock print, 365 x 250mm., surface dust and slight spotting, taped at edges into mount, with date seal and publisher's stamp of Iseya-Rihei, early 19th century; with 3 other woodblocks by Kunisada, as Toyokuni III, each with 3 portrait roundels of Kabuki actors, another Kabuki portrait by Kunichika, a dramatically posed scene from a play by Shigeharu, and a triptych of fighting warriors by Kuniyoshi, colour woodblock prints, each c.355 x 245mm., the triptych 355 x 730mm., overall, this with a few pin holes at corners, laid down and framed, the others hinged into mounts, only, occasional spotting and other minor defects, early to mid 19th century (7).
