Arthur Rank photographic film stills, predominantly 20cm x 26cm (8"x10"), depicting production shots,. views of sets, press photographs, action scenes, promotional photographs, pin-ups, views of Pinewood Studios etc, covering numerous 1940's/early 1950's films including Blithe Spirit, London Town, The Huggets Abroad, The Weaker Sex, Caravan, The Man from Texas, Its hard to be Good, The Passionate Friends, They were Sisters, Canon City, XIVth Olympiad-The Glory of Sport, The Perfect Woman, North West Stampede, Floodtide, Fools Rush In, The Time of their Lives, Blanche Fury, The Way Ahead, London Belongs to Me etc, starring John Mills, Jean Simms, Susan Shaw, Diana Dors, Robert Taylor, Margaret Lockwood, Stewart Granger, Patricia Roc, Lynn Bari, Bob Hope, Honor Blackman, Jack Warner, Jimmy Hanley, Valerie Hobson, Richard Attenborough, Dennis Price, Abbott and Costello, Alan Ladd, Rex Harrison etc, most with full details verso. The collection was put together by a gentleman who worked in the press office at J. Arthur Rank at this time and he saved the prints that were binned when they were no longer required. They then passed by descent to the vendor who is his niece.
