A sweetheart brooch for the 8th Kings Royal Irish Hussars Cavalry Regiment, the winged harp set with diamonds below a wreath of enamelled shamrock leaves surmounted by the crown with Prestina Virtutis Memories enamelled ribbon above the Roman numeral VIII, together with an oval papier mache trinket box decorated with silver wriggle work and abalone shell detail, lined in deep violet coloured velvet. Hand-coloured engravings from 'Britannia: or, a chorographical description of the flourishing kingdoms of England, Scotland and Ireland, and the islands adjacent; from the earliest antiquity', by William Camden. London, 1789. Mounted (2) The harp 8 by 10.50in. (20.3 by 26.7cm) The Brian Boru's harp (also known as 'Trinity College harp) is a medieval musical instrument on display in the long room at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland. It is a wire strung cláirseach. It is dated to the 14th or 15th century and, along with the Queen Mary Harp and the Lamont Harp, is one of the three oldest surviving Gaelic harps. The harp was used as a model for the coat of arms of Ireland. It may be the oldest existing harp in the world.One of very few surviving objects known to have been the personal property of an Irish king, the Kavanagh Charter Horn is an early 12th century ivory ceremonial drinking horn. The brass mountings were added in the 15th century. It is the only known piece of Irish regalia to survive Medieval Ireland. The Kavanagh family retained possession of the horn until they donated it to the National Museum of Ireland.
1961 Guinness leprechaun, truck ornament. A figure of a leprechaun dressed in a red pointed hat, green coat and red trousers holding a bottle of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, with code for September 1961, and a gilt harp; with steel bracket for mounting. Rare. Height 19in. (48.3cm) The leprechaun was used by Guinness Exports Ltd (GEL) to advertise stout in the UK and selected overseas markets (mainly the US but also Australia) in the 1950s and 1960s. GEL was set up in Liverpool in the 1950s to bottle and promote sales of Foreign Extra Stout overseas. The leprechaun in question was typically mounted on the roof of sales vans and delivery lorries.
Late 19th century bog-oak book trough by Cornelius Goggin. A finely carved Victorian sliding book trough, the base centred by a harp among profuse trailing shamrock and bordered by trailing shamrock, the folding ends carved and pierced, one with a figure of a bard playing a harp by a round tower, the other with an eagle in a shamrock wreath surmounted by a Maltese cross and flanked by a British ensign and another flag. Bearing label to the underside for 'Cornelius Goggin - Irish Bog Oak Carver - To Her Majesty - 13, Nassau Street - Dublin.' Width closed 19in. (48.3cm)

MARX HARPO: (1888-1964) American Film Comedian, one of the Marx Brothers. A good, original pen and ink self caricature drawn, signed and inscribed by Marx on a small oblong 8vo sheet of paper, the hastily sketched image depicting Marx seated in a full length profile pose playing his harp. Signed in bold black fountain pen ink alongside the drawing. Some light creasing and age wear and some minor traces of former mounting to the verso. Together with Noel Coward (1899-1973) English Playwright, Actor and Composer, Academy Award winner. Vintage signed sepia 4 x 4.5 magazine photograph of Coward in a close-up profile pose. Signed in bold fountain pen ink with his name alone to a light area at the head of the image. Neatly mounted. Also including Gracie Fields (1898-1979) English Actress & Entertainer. LORD DROGHEDA'S BLUESA RARE SET OF TWELVE COAT AND FOUR WAISTCOAT SILVER UNIFORM BUTTONS, Dublin c.1770, each with Hibernia and harp stamps and makers mark J.S, each engraved XVIII L.D within a laurel wreath, (c.3 troy ozs all in)Charles Moore, 6th Earl of Drogheda, raised a troop of cavalry known as 'Lord Drogheda's Light Horse' to oppose the French Admiral Thurot who had captured Carrickfergus. This levy was regularised as the 18th Light Dragoons in 1763 as per the insignia on these buttons. The blue uniform gave the sobriquet Lord Drogheda's Blues. It saw service in the Napoleonic Wars as a regular regiment of the British Army.

Original UK Fontana LP release (TL 5277). The record is in super clean Ex condition with just a couple of extremely faint, minor and wispy markings. The front laminated sleeve is in Ex condition with a little 'muckiness' on the reverse (this could perhaps be carefully cleaned) and a sticker with a previous owner's address on it just covering a name in pen.

Edward Light of London, (1747-1832), a Regency harp lute, the black lacquered body gilt penwork decorated with trailing fruiting vine, with fret carved sound hole, mounted on a rectangular gilt plinth, inscribed 'E. Light, Inventor and Professor of the British Lute, 38 Berner Street, London, N11', circa 1815, 79cm high. The harp lute was invented by Edward Light in 1798 and is also known as the 'British lute'. The pillar supports tuned bass strings to extend the instruments range. The pitch of the bass strings can be raised by one semitone using stops similar to the pedals on a harp.
