Broadside: Protest against the British Government. Large folio sheet, 25" x 30", b/w wood engraved illustrations and border in the shape of a harp. (1)American Fenian propaganda published in Philadelphia by Prinsteller William Smith, probably in the 1860s. It features an imaginary portrait of Robert Emmett and an honor roll of prominent Fenians, along with a stirring text comparing the Repeal movement with the American Revolution. On the verso is a large wood engraving of a pretty girl. It was said that this image was meant to camouflage the incendiary material on the other side. A few stains at top. Good condition overall. Missing various sections of plaster work, strings and losses to the woodwork throughout. A few small woodworm holes throughout. Generally in a distressed state. See images for more details.

There are some scratches and scuffs on her arms, back and harp, along with some olds marks, stains and dirt in general.
