1916 Irish Volunteers uniform belt. A die-cast, two-piece belt-buckle centred with relief harp and emblazoned "Irish Volunteers", on a brown leather belt with incised inscription "P. Darcy - 2 John St. - Enniscorthy - Postman". The buckle of a type retailed by Fallon's outfitters Mary Street.
Civil War.- New Marriage (A), Between Mr. King, and Mrs. Parliament. The banes forbidden by Captaine Army, with the Grounds and Reasons he gives for the same, first edition, 8pp., interleaved, eight lines of verse on title between two typographical rules, below which are a row of woodcut crowned rose, thistle, fleur-de-lys, and harp, all but the thistle repeated with ornaments at top of p.3, upper margin of title trimmed close, just touching letter "A" and on next leaf just touching pagination, later vellum-backed boards, [Wing N665], 4to, 1648.⁂ Very rare satire with ESTC recording copies at BL, LSE and Newberry only. This seemingly the only copy in auction records, its last appearance being in 1993 at the Fairfax sale, bought by Lawson. Provenance: Fairfax of Cameron (bookplate)
A SPODE PORCELAIN PART TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE, c.1800, bat printed with pattern No.1922, with figures at various pursuits including a tea party, begger, sowing seeds, kite flying and hunting, comprising twelve saucers, eleven tea cups, two coffee cans, teapot, cover and stand, slop basin, milk jug, sucrier and cover and two graduated saucer dishes, variously marked (32) (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT)8 1/4" saucer dish cracked with loss at rim, 7 1/4" saucer dish old soldered repair to rim with loss, five saucers have a more allegorical appearance (harp playing, chariot in sky etc), teapot stand (7 3/4" wide), has obvious firing crack near rim, 7" wide, sucrier stained and discoloured. Otherwise all good. The majority having pattern number, a few inscribed Spode in burnt orange
