Weir Raymond (UK) The Globe #1011 miniature antique Sewing Machine, 1860s, stamped to the needle plate Jas G Weir Carlisle Street Soho Square London, cast iron with ornate japanned black and gold design finish, crank handle, chain stitch, base includes scroll and boss for a table clamp (clamp not included), with presser foot lever (featuring a ball end design), reel of gold cord secured in wooden bobbin, some surface corrosion / chips, Good, untested, 9" tall. NB: James Galloway Weir began selling sewing machines c1867 from premises at 2 Carlisle Street, Soho, London. This version, "The Globe", was produced by Weir; it was based on machines manufactured in the USA, by Charles Raymond, Guelph, Canada.
