Contained within a turquoise blue satin covered fan box with the label for ''Vernier-Chardin, 19 rue Auber, Paris, the initials ''CC'' in gold on the lid exterior. Guard length 10.5 inches or 27cm Purchased at Phillips London on the first of September 1983 for £100. Noted in that catalogue ''Formerly the property of Princess Catherine Caratheodori whose husband, the Regent of Samos, represented the Ottoman Empire at the coronation of Tsar Nicholas II in 1896.Some splitting to the gauze on the verso, some traces of glue noticeable.

A Circa 1870's Fan, with a handmade lace leaf mounted on pink mother-of-pearl sticks and ribs, the upper guard bearing a gold metal monogram ''CH'' with a coronet above. The leaf, of Brussels bobbin appliqué, is worked with a floral design. Guard length 10.5 inches or 26.5cm. Together with A Mixed Belgian Lace Fan, the leaf mounted on pink mother-of-pearl, the lace design and workmanship possibly Ghent, with scrolling and use of whole and half stitch, one layer of raised petals to the central flowers. Guard length 9.5 inches or 24cm (2)The first fan is sound, the second fan has a good repair to the upper guard.

An 18th Century Flemish walnut flamed hall chair, the tapestry upholstered back and seat of floral design flanked by foliate carved open scroll arms on turned cup and cover supports, raised on bobbin turned supports united by stretchers, 108 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Surface scratches, knocks and dents and scuffs to the frame. Some chips to the frame in areas. Evidence of old woodworm, mainly to the lower part of the legs, front and back. There is an old repair to the bottom of the column supporting one of the arms. There is also an area of loss to the wood. Areas of loss to both the front carved pads and one of the back legs. Both back legs have old added sections. Some areas of loss to the two sections of the turned stretcher. Wear, fading and discolouration, mainly to the arms. The upholstery is missing some of the tassles. There are areas of repair and re-stitching, fading and discolouration to the upholstery. Two of the metal studs are missing at the front of the chair.
