William Morris, London, 1996 cat. no. J.29. It was deigned by Webb circa 1866 and was manufactured by Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. W.

A 17th Century Spanish parquetry Vargueno on stand, the hinged fall front with central lock and metal mounts, opening to reveal an interior inlaid with bone and ebony and fitted with an arrangement of two small cupboards and ten drawers around an extractable central moorish arch, above a later stand with two lopers and bobbin turned legs united by stretchers, 139cm high, 107cm wide.

A Fine 17th Century Carved & Inlaid Oak Wainscot Chair. The high cresting rail centred by a lady's face mask and flanked by marguerite daisies, scrolling waves and cusps of fanned leaves above a moulded top rail of chequer inlay and a similarly inlaid central muntin dividing the back into two panels of carved daisy wheels. The plain uprights with carved 'ear-pieces' either side and a shallow panel of dog tooth inlay below. The scroll-end shaped plank arms on bobbin turned supports. The seat having a gadrooned front edge and chip-carved notches to the moulded sides, resting on inlaid seat rails and bobbin-turned legs joined by a turned front stretcher and plain stretchers to the sides and back.From Sir Alistair Graham's Collection, Lower Old Hall, Norland.
