A late 17th / early 18th century oak single-drawer centre table - the boarded rectangular top over panelled sides and back, the single drawer sliding on runners, with chased brass cartouche swing handle (possibly later), iron lock and a later fitted interior for cutlery with green baize (the baize a/f), raised on fruitwood bobbin turned supports with block feet, united by peripheral stretchers. (LWH 76.5 x 65 x 73.5cm), some old (inactive) worm.

A Harlequin Set of Seven Late 17th/Early 18th Century Joined Oak Back Stools, each with scrolled and carved double crescent back supports above solid boarded seats, on turned and block forelegs joined by spiral and bobbin-turned stretchers47cm by 38cm by 107cmThe chairs are generally structurally sound, with the exception of two which have some movement in the joints. Back Stool One - the boarded seat has some gaps and a small split on the corner of the seat rail. Repair to the left-hand stretcher. Chair Two - later boarded seat. Some old decay around the stretchers. The rear-left leg has been re-tipped. Chair Three - heavily decayed throughout the seat and the turned stretchers. Later baton added to the underside of the seat for strengthening. Timber very dry, therefore, the seat is split. Old decay around the legs and seat frame. Chair Five - various old decay around the seat rail and boarded seat (which is also split). Later batons added to the underside of the seat. Some old decay around the stretchers. Chair Six - small split to the top rail. The boarded seat has some natural gaps/split. The front-right leg has an old split/repair. Chair Seven - later boarded seat. Various old splits throughout the front supports. The legs badly split, with screws added. Please see further images online.
A pair of Victorian style brass bobbin table lamps of candlestick form, 63 cm high including bayonet fixing, another smaller pair of brass table lamps CONDITION REPORTS The larger pair of lamps, we believe to be modern, see images of base. There is a small dent to one their "drip trays", yes they stand straight and parallel. The wires have been cut - need to be re wired.The other pair are modern, have passed PATesting, The single lamp, wire has been cut - needs to be re wired. There is pitting variously though out and some lose of plating especially to one side. All lamps have general wear and tear conducive to age and use to include some light scratching, pitting, casting faults and cleaning fluid remains. See images for more details.

A 'hanging bobbin', carved in bone with pierced decortion 'FRANZ MULLER HUNG 1864' with black and clear glass beaded spangleFrank Muller (31st October 1840 - 14th November 1864') was a German tailor who was hanged for the murder of Thomas Briggs, the first murder on a British train. The case was brought to popular attention due to increasing safety fears of rail travel, the pursuit of him across the Atlantic to the USA and his subsequent extradition back to England. King Wilhem I of Prussia tried to intervene to postpone the excution but failed and the execution went ahead outside Newgate Prision in front of a huge crowd of 50,000 spectators.
A 'hanging bobbin', carved in bone with pierced decoration 'JOSEPH CASTLE HUNG 1860', with beaded spangleJoseph Castle was hung at Bedford Gaol 31st March 1860, for the murder of his wife, Jane Castle and it took the jury only 15 minutes to convict Castle. The same night it is said that Jane Castle's family threw a party and gave each guest a commerative bobbin.
A 'hanging bobbin', carved in bone with pierced decoration 'W WORSLEY HUNG 1868', with beaded spangleWilliam Worsley was jointly tried along with Levi Welch who turned Kings evidence and Worsley was then convicted of the fatal blow that killed William Bradbury. Levi was later tried again and convicted for robbing the body of Bradbury but gained a pardon after appeal, on the basis that anyone giving evidence leading to the conviction of the murderer was entitled to a free pardon. William Worsley was hung for the murder of William Bradbury on 31st March 1868, in Bedford.
