An Aesthetic Movement ebonised wood Jacobean armchair designed by Edward William Godwin, circular padded seat on tapering, turned legs with streamlined, curved arms and lattice back, turned bobbin stretchers unsigned, 83cm. high Literature Susan Weber Soros The Secular Furniture of E.W. Godwin, Yale, page 89 catalogue number 108 for a comparable example illustrated. This example bearing the William Watt enamel label. Soros notes this Old English or Jacobean design was one of Godwin's most popular designs and was produced in many different versions (our example has different turned bobbin stretchers). VICTORIAN OAK STRAIGHT FRONT 'SCOTCH' CHEST OF DRAWERS having moulded top above mahogany hat box and an arrangement of four small and three long drawers with bobbin turned supports on shaped apron and baluster turned feet. 124 x 53 x 129cm approx. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Large shrinkage split to the top of the chest. Retains its good colour overall, slightly faded in places. Some minor losses to mouldings but overall in good usable condition for age. One metal lock is missing.

VAT) CONDITION REPORT: One of the seats has some loss, splits to all of the seats, loss to mouldings, stains and fading in places. Some of the chairs are loose.

VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Some are very dry and worn in places. Six of the backs are structurally sound, one is rather loose. General wear and tear commensurate with age. Wear especially to the feet/base area.

An Art Deco green glass decanter set, comprising a decanter and stopper and six glasses each with bobbin stems, a similar lemonade set, a large handled basket, a green vaseline glass vase of Art Deco form etc (Qty) CONDITION REPORT: All appear to be in relatively good order, one lemonade glass with bobbin stem has a small chip to the interior rim, Deco stepped vase has a chip to the base. Glass flower pin holder has extensive internal fractures.
