It has however been altered and is probably part of a larger piece of furniture. There is evidence of some woodworm but this is old and long gone.

A George III inlaid workbox, with thimble, bobbin and scissors to lid and with book form front. Width 25 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The box is in generally very good condition with no damage, repairs or restoration. The front right hand corner of the book form top is slightly sprung from the rectangular section of the lid. There is no movement here simply a small gap between the two sections of wood. The interior is red baize lined and there are no compartments.
