* Lace making bobbins, English, mid-19th century, approximately 360 hand-carved bone or wood bobbins, some stained green or red, some possibly South Bucks, a number with wood inlays or metal wire bound (a few incorporating seed beads), and many highly decorated with coloured dots, bands, and other incised and applied ornamentation (including Bedfordshire tigers, leopards, and butterflies), 10 bone bobbins inscribed: Sarah, James, Nellie, Harriett, Dear George, Anne Horne, Dear Uncle, A Present From Phebe Tomkins, Sarah Ann Parry, I Love True, and a wooden one with the name Nelly, plus a bone bobbin with inked word in a foreign script, most with spangles (a few incorporating shells or buttons, 1 with a bone acorn), occasional surface rubbing, length approximately 14cm (5.5ins) and slightly shorter QTY: (approx. 360)

A 19TH-CENTURY BLACK FOREST CARVED WALNUT STICK STAND FORMED AS A BEGGING DOG clasping a bobbin-turned stick and mounted on a naturalistic base87cm high Old worm holes throughout, the dog is still solid and the holes need filling. The carving is in good order and has no replaced parts or breaks, you cab see the joints in the timber on the shoulders and the back. The finish is original but dirty and would benefit from a wax.
A LATE 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY ANGLO PORTUGUESE BONE INLAID AND ROSEWOOD CENTRE TABLE the panelled marquetry top with chamfered edge above outset corbels and large ring turned tapering square legs on shallow bun feet joined by a bobbin turned stretcher rails.103cm wide 67cm deep 83cm high The table is in good overall condition. The joints are loose and would benefit from tightening/regluing. There are shrinkage cracks to the top. See photos. There are some losses to the turned sections on the legs. There are no breaks in the legs or stretches. Some shrinkage cracks in the bobbin stretchers. Minor losses to the ivory inlays.
A LATE 17TH CENTURY OAK SIDE TABLE with overhanging top above a moulded frieze drawer; raised on bobbin turned legs joined under stretchers93cm wide 51cm deep 72cm high the table is in good original condition. Having original top to base. There is a small piece of worm damage to the front right foot humbles go through the original holes. And the drawer linings are original table, retains a good original colour and Patina.

Wear to the paintwork and the figures possibly in need of some cleaning. Some signs of old restoration. Some slight damage to the surface, particularly within the left hand door associated with a vertical split. The handles replaced. The base much later. Some very old and minor signs of woodworm.

Birmingham, the lid opening to show a silk lining (in need of delicate care) the front opening to reveal gilt-coloured accoutrements to include a folding mirror, comb, brushes, scissors, button hook, thimble and bobbin etcetera. The applied insignia stating, 'Gordon-Bennett Trophy Ireland 1903'. 9 x 7 x 4-inches. AF.
