Summer nightdress, European, late 19th/early 20th century, undyed fine cotton with bobbin lace and whitework square neck bodice with yellow silk ribbon trim with similar inserts and trim to the elbow length flared sleeves; finely embroidered monogram to right side just below the bodice; pearlised button front fastening. A few time stains.

X 47cm.; a child's hand stitched corset; a bertha collar of machine net appliqued with early 18th century bobbin lace motifs; a bonnet veil of machine net edged with a deep border of Buckingham bobbin lace depicting thistles; a late 19th century full length white cotton underskirt shaped to accommodate a bustle, one other; four lengths of fine cotton flounce with tambour decoration and bobbin lace edge together with sundry collars and other items.
^ Very unusual George IV Midshipman’s Dirk, 1821-1830, thick elliptical section blade with traces of etched and gilt decoration, bobbin turned ivory grip, ivory pommel carved as a bust portrait of George 4th, gilt brass mounts comprising circular dish-shaped guard and ferule, in its brass sheath engraved with a trophy of arms, sun bursts and foliage, 2 hanging rings. Blade 22cms, overall 31cms. Good condition.
A 18th Century oak side table the plank top with cleated ends over a single drawer on bobbin turned supports united by stretchers CONDITION REPORTS Numerous surface scratches and scuffs to the top. Some fading and discolouration and staining in areas of the top as well. There are some minor splits to the wood and the base of the drawer has some old woodworm. One of the legs has possibly been replaced. Another leg has been spliced and the others have had alterations. General wear and tear commensurate with age and use. Would suggest viewing in person.
