A rosewood workbox, 27.5 cm wide, a novelty timepiece, in the form of a pocket watch, 21 cm high, a carriage clock, in a four pillar brass case, 14.5 cm high, an onyx mantel clock, three leather carriage clock travelling cases, a similar wooden case, assorted clock keys and items (box) Condition report Report by GHOne of the leather cases has a frayed strap. Another of the smaller cases has some losses to leather. Otherwise in reasonable condition. The oversized pocket watch appears to tick and run but has been overpolished and lost some of the silvered finish. The carriage clock has its minute hand missing. Hairspring on the platform damaged. Some small chips to corners of glass panels. The onyx mantel clock has some cracking to the stone and some possible old repairs but generally appears complete and with key. Winds and runs. Enamel face in good condition with some small marks. Charterhouse does not guarantee the working condition of any watches or clocks.

Late Period, 664-332 BC. A green glazed composition amuletic pendant of Khonsu wearing disc and crescent moon, holding a sceptre, pierced at the dorsal pillar. Cf. Andrews, C. Amulets of Ancient Egypt, London, 1994, fig.12(b"). 1.48 grams, 27mm (1"). From an important London collection, acquired in the 1970s. Khonsu was the moon god and the son of Amun-Ra and the goddess Mut; his name means the traveller. He appears as a mummiform figure with only his hands emerging to grasp various emblems of power, most commonly the Was sceptre. On his head he wears the disc and crescent moon. He had a major shrine connected to the temple complex of Karnak and was worshipped as instrumental in the creation of new life in all living creatures. Fine condition.
