George III mahogany bookcase secretaire, scrolled pediment piece, two astragal glazed doors, with lancet-shaped glazing bars, well-fitted secretaire drawer, over two panelled doors, enclosing four long drawers, stamped Hy Walker, Lancaster, width 125cm, depth 60cm height 262cm.Footnote:Henry Walker was a Lancaster based cabinet maker, joiner and upholsterer. he was named in the Gillows Archive and is recorded as working for them for numerous client from 1791-1806. He was made a Freeman in 1823-24.Condition report:Cornice generally good, pediment has a small chip to top of the right scroll, veneer repair to the front, glazing and bars to the doors are good, interior of the top is fabric lined, top of the base has some old cracks to the flame veneer, small split to the front right corner, secretaire drawer works well, bone handles to the drawers inside (one missing), writing surface pullout section is rudimentary and writing surface warped (adapted?), hinges and catches are good, stamped to the top edge of the drawer, small section of reeding missing to left pillar, cupboard doors below are ok, right door very slightly warped, internal drawers are good, plinth has a small section of veneer loss to the left corner, sides are good, small split to the left side upper section.Additional images have been uploaded to the lot page on our website for you to view.

An early 19th century mahogany longcase regulator the circular 11" silvered dial with Arabic and Roman numerals, with central seconds over hours dials within outer minute track and blued steel hands, signed H.T.W. Ellis London, single train 8 day brass six pillar movement with deadbeat escapement and dust cover, the steel pendulum rod with mercury compensated glass jar pendulum and brass cased weight supported on a six spoked brass pulley, the arched hood surmounted with three gilt brass pineapple finials over a trunk with glazed door and reeded canted sides, on a box base with raised outline moulding on plinth height 205cm., width 44.5 cm., depth 23.5 cm. Condition:Winds ticks and runs however no guarantee can be offered as to the full working order. No case key. Winding key later. Original seat board. Case unrestored with chips and losses to veneer.
