A large oak Windsor & Newton ‘Improved Studio Easel’, circa 1910, with metal fittings, dual action brass crank wheel, raised on four hardwood castors, one with screw brake, manufacturer's plaque to the base ‘Winsor & Newtons / Improved Studio Easel / Sold by All Artists Colourmen &c’, 74 by 71 by 201cm high, over 240cm high when fully raised, together with an Edwardian oak artist’s stool, circular seat raised on three hexagonal section legs joined by peripheral stretchers and foot rest to one side, inscribed to the underside of the seat, 44 by 36 by 78cm high. (2)Provenance: this easel most recently belonged to the artist Barbara Balmer RSA RSW and the last work painted on it was purchased by the author J. K. Rowling!

A French porcelain plaque, late 19th century, depicting a classical maiden beneath a prunus tree, within a champlevé enamel shaped frame decorated with a polychrome foliate pattern to a turquoise ground, with easel stand, 19.5cm high CONDITION REPORT:The plaque shows a small firing pit to the right hand edge and minor surface wear throughout. The frames shows surface wear throughout and would benefit from cleaning. There is some minor distortion to the right leg. The back of the frame shows surface scratching and tarnishing to the brass throughout. The easel stand is functional. The sliding back panel appears to be wedged in place.
