Follower of Jens Juel Self portrait of the artist and his wife Rosine Doschel both seated at an easel oil on board unframed 54 by 42.3 cm.; 21.25 by 16.625 in. An early 19th century copy after Juel's original which was painted in 1791 to comemmorate his marriage to Rosine Doschel the daughter of the head gardener at Bernstorff in 1790 (see E. Poulsen Jens Juel Katalog Copenhagen 1991 vol. I pp. 155-6 cat. no. 534 reproduced vol. II fig. 534).

A George III inlaid mahogany Enclosed Washstand, the crossbanded rectangular folding top opening to reveal a fitted interior with bevelled easel mirror and lidded and open compartments above a dummy drawer with brass rosette and pear drop handles, the drawer under with bowl insert and four open compartments and all raised on four squared tapering legs with brass roller castors. 2ft 2in (65cms). Height 2ft 10in (87cms)
