Henry Pierce Bone 1779-1855 An oval enamel miniature depicting head and shoulders Elizabeth Queen of Edward 4th, wearing a blue dress and an ermine drape,a sceptre to her left shoulder, a crown to her head. Inscribed to the counter enamel in red on a blue ground “Elizabeth Queen Of Edwrad 4th.London,Oct. 1844.Painted by Henry Pierce Bone Enamel Painter to Her Majesty and H.R.H Prince Albert &c. From an Illuminated MS in the Library at Lambeth Palace ###” In an oval gilt metal beaded edge frame with frosted “slip”,the back open to reveal the inscription and with hinged easel support below a hanging ring. The enamel 10.5 x 8.5 cm, the frame 14.3 x 12.1 cm A hair line crack from left to right crossing the sitters left eye, a further hair line crack running from the ermine across the sceptre to the sitters neck, otehr minor abrasions to the surface and edges. Prince Albert purchased in 1843 from the artist “Bone Set of Enamels Of The Sovereigns and Queens of England From Edward 111 to Queen Victoria” comprising eleven by Henry Bone and twenty two by Henry Pierce Bone.
A George III marquetry and mahogany gentleman's dressing table in the manner of Gillowsthe three part top with lifting centre with inset gilt tooled leather, enclosing a sliding easel mirror, the two hinged sides opening on lopers, with marquetry musical trophies, enclosing fitted compartments, over a kingwood banded frieze, raised on cross banded square tapered legs, 32 x 22.75in.
