Henry Pierce Bone 1779-1855 An oval enamel miniature depicting head and shoulders Elizabeth Queen of Edward 4th, wearing a blue dress and an ermine drape,a sceptre to her left shoulder, a crown to her head. Inscribed to the counter enamel in red on a blue ground “Elizabeth Queen Of Edwrad 4th.London,Oct. 1844.Painted by Henry Pierce Bone Enamel Painter to Her Majesty and H.R.H Prince Albert &c. From an Illuminated MS in the Library at Lambeth Palace ###” In an oval gilt metal beaded edge frame with frosted “slip”,the back open to reveal the inscription and with hinged easel support below a hanging ring. The enamel 10.5 x 8.5 cm, the frame 14.3 x 12.1 cm A hair line crack from left to right crossing the sitters left eye, a further hair line crack running from the ermine across the sceptre to the sitters neck, otehr minor abrasions to the surface and edges. Prince Albert purchased in 1843 from the artist “Bone Set of Enamels Of The Sovereigns and Queens of England From Edward 111 to Queen Victoria” comprising eleven by Henry Bone and twenty two by Henry Pierce Bone.

(81.25 x 57.75cm.), 29in. (73.75cm.) high.

An early 19th Century French burr elm and brass mounted Palais Royal sewing/travel box of rectangular form, brass shield escutcheon and lid plaque, the tooled leather lid interior fitted with a removable easel mirror revealing a letter compartment with printed label. “Hebert, Palais Royal, Galerie de Pierre No 20 cóte de la rue de la Lot’. The lower section fitted with six silver lidded jars and bottles, one chipped to neck, one chipped to stopper rim, a silver eye bath and a silver perfume funnel, arranged around a pair of flush fitted tooled leather trays, the upper with gilt mounted ivory fittings comprising a pair of knitting needle protectors, a pen, a cylinder needlecase, a tambour hook lacking end cover, a single blade folding knife, and with replacement steel scissors and corkscrew. The lower tray with conforming fittings comprising ivory thimble, stiletto, folding rule, reversible crochet hook, awl, eraser, tweezer/earspoon, horn handle toothbrush, outer box poorly finished, 24.2 x 13.5 x 9cm
