Signed below photo Elizabeth R, Philip, 1976 in ink. The letter in very good condition included in the original envelope. with some edgewear and smudges.

A pair of portrait photographs of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, taken by Dorothy Wilding, each signed below in black ink 'George R.I.' and 'Elizabeth R', in original leather frames with gilt Royal monograms above, photograph sizes 15 x 11.5cm approx., with easel reverses, total height 25.5cm (2) Provenance; Presented to Lancelot Peile, Commander Engineer of H.M.S. Vanguard during the Royal Tour of South Africa in 1947, he had overall responsibility for the recreational activities for the Royal entourage whilst they were on board and was given public recognition for these duties through being appointed as a Member of the Fourth Class of the Royal Victorian Order. Later in his career he was Admiral Superintendent of Devonport and on retirement served as Deputy Lieutenant of Devon, then by family descent.
