A pair of late Victorian oval miniatures on ivory of a Lady and Gentleman, the gentleman wearing hunting pink, the lady with lace collar to her dress and wearing a pearl necklace, in gold mounted and blue enamel glazed frames with cream silk backing, set in silk and velvet lined oval triptych easel back glazed leather covered cases. Painter Charles James Turrell, 1846-1932, both signed with the initials "C.T", and dated "1894". *See: 'A Dictionary of British Miniature painters, volume 2, By Daphne Foskett', plate 375 depicts a miniature of Alexandra, Princess of Wales, later Queen Alexandra, wife of King Edward VII, in an identical frame.
