WINTERHALDER, GERMANY GOOD QUALITY 1920's CHIMING MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK, the 12 1/4" dial with foliate pierced spandrels, subsidiary seconds dial to the matted and silvered centre and silent/chime and Westminster/Whittington dials to the arch, the reverse stamped, 16808, powered by a substantial movement, driven by three brass cased weights and striking on eight graduated silvered tubular gongs and single hour gong, the case with swan neck pediment over cluster fore columns and pierced sound frets to the sides, over a Chippendale style blind fret carved frieze and long trunk door with bevel edged over glazed centre and raised on a panelled base with shaped plinth, 85" (216cm) high (one hammer broken)
