DESCRIPTION: Bench-made copy of a Pennsylvania four-drawer Chippendale dresser constructed as a true miniature. Probably 19th century. The form consisting of a walnut paneled case resting on four turned feet. Each drawer with cockbeading and small wooden knobs. The overhanging top joined to the case with small screws. While such pieces are mythically called “apprentice pieces,” the vast majority were made as true miniatures for those of means to store items such as jewelry, ribbons and other items.
