A CARVED OAK AND ONYX MOUNTED CONSOLE TABLE POSSIBLY NORTHERN FRANCE, THE BASE LATE 18TH CENTURY 84cm high, 140cm wide, 72cm deep Condition Report: Overall there are some scratches, marks, knocks, cracks, abrasions and minor repairs consistent with age and use.The onyx top with some veins with the appearance of cracks.There is some old worm.The outset corners with some knocks.The front legs are carved to all four sides, the back legs carved to three sides.The front top border slightly bowed, perceptible only as there is a tapering gap between the border and the onyx.Please see the additional photographs as a visual reference of condition. The tables are designed to fit and be screwed tightly against a wall - this will need to be done on installation by the purchaser. There are layers of previous paint to the rails from their last fixing as well as various associated screw holes. A Victorian mahogany serpentine shaped console hall table. With frieze short drawer and heavily turned barley twist front columns. H76.5cm x W126.5cm x D55.8cm Condition Report: Overall in good condition. Structurally sound. No obvious breakages. One of the handles appears to have been re-attached. Some marks to the top including watermarks and burn marks. Some general wear including scratches, cracks and small knocks consistent with age and usage. Would benefit from a clean. Evidence that some moulding has been removed around the back supports.
