1999 Volvo S90 Royal Long Wheelbase Transmission: automaticMileage:51500The Volvo 900 Series is a range of executive cars produced by the Swedish manufacturer Volvo Cars from 1990 to 1999. The 900 Series was introduced in 1990 to replace the 700 Series from which it derived. Prior to the end of its production, the 960 was renamed as the Volvo S90 (saloon) and Volvo V90 (estate), and the 940 was renamed 940 Classic, becoming the last rear wheel drive cars from Volvo. In 1994 for the 1995 model year the 960 received a facelift, including changes to the grille and body-coloured panels. A smaller 2.5 version of the six-cylinder was also added to the line-up, with 170 or 163bhp for the B6244FS version. The S90 Executive Royal featured a longer wheelbase and a centre console for the rear passengers, it is believed that 1100 were coachbuilt by the Volvo factory, 15cm longer than the standard model and with the 2.9 litre engine coupled to a smooth automatic gearbox and 17” Volvo Canopus wheels. This extremely well presented S90 Royal is offered in near unmarked silver coachwork with beige leather trim which has clearly had a very easy life, barely showing the 51,000 miles for which it has been sat in. Imported back from Japan in 2020, this was defined as a grade four example upon export and is indeed in impressive order. These cars were coachbuilt as a long wheelbase option and are as rare as hens’ teeth. This example boasts an MoT test certificate until August 2021, a UK V5 registration document and we are led to believe this may have been a diplomatic vehicle when in Japan. Built to last, in fabulous condition and good enough for diplomats, this is an ultra-rare example of the Volvo S90.Guide Price £6,000 - £10,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2013 Jaguar XF Sportbrake Transmission: automaticMileage:82894The XF is a rear-wheel-drive executive car that was manufactured by Jaguar Cars at their Castle Bromwich assembly plant in Birmingham and was a replacement for the aging S-Type. Having been designed by Jaguar’s design director Ian Callum, the car was launched at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, with deliveries to customers commencing in March 2008. The XF was launched with a variety of trims called, depending on country, 'SE', 'Luxury', 'Premium Luxury', 'Portfolio', 'SV8' (or 'Supercharged') and 'R'. For the UK market, company car-friendly 'Executive Edition' and 'SE Business' models with lower tuned versions of the 3.0 litre and 2.2 litre diesel engines respectively were available. The interior included air conditioning vents which are flush fitting in the dash, rotating open once the engine is started, and a rotating gearshift dial, marketed as Jaguar Drive Selector, which automatically elevates from the centre console. Another departure from the traditional Jaguar cabin ambiance is the use of pale-blue backlighting to the instruments, switchgear, and around major control panels. The XF has no cloth interior option, with all trim levels featuring leathers, wood veneers are available along with aluminium, carbon fibre and piano black lacquer trims.Originally registered on 15th October 2013, this XF is a very well equipped example being the ‘Premium Luxury’ model. As a Sportbrake edition, there is ample room and oceans of flexibility with this Jaguar. It will drive like a sedate saloon car but has the capacity to be a comfortable long tourer, ideal for trips abroad or enjoying the beauty of the British countryside. Finished in the delightful colour combination of light metallic blue with cream interior, this one owner Jaguar has been well maintained with six stamps in the service book. A superb car to drive with great ergonomics, this XF is supplied with a V5C registration book and a current MoT test certificate valid until 16th August 2021. A superb practical car for a relatively modest outlay.Guide £11,000-£13,000 Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1963 Ford Lotus Cortina Mk. I Transmission: manualMileage:31684In 1961, Colin Chapman was commissioned by Harry Mundy to design a twin-cam version of the Ford Kent engine and its first appearance was at the Nürburgring in a Lotus 23 driven by Jim Clark. Soon after, the engine appeared in the Lotus Elan. During the engine's development, Walter Hayes at Ford asked Colin Chapman to fit the twin-cam into 1,000 Ford saloons for Group 2 racing homologation. Chapman accepted the contract and the type 28, or Lotus Cortina as it became known, was born. Whilst Ford supplied the two-door body shells and took care of the marketing, Lotus engineered the mechanical and cosmetic changes which included the 1558cc engine along with the Elan's close-ratio gearbox, front quarter bumpers and Lotus badges. They also made changes to the interior with a new centre console to accommodate the revised gear lever position, different seats and a later styled dashboard that incorporated a tachometer, odometer, oil pressure, water temperature and fuel gauges. A wood rimmed steering wheel was the finishing touch. This magnificent Lotus Cortina was first registered on 17th June 1963 and was originally manufactured in the Lotus colours of white with a green stripe. Having been restored to a superb standard, the body colour was changed to the Alan Mann racing colours of red with a gold stripe in September 2001. With excellent door gaps and panels that are extremely straight with no rippling the quality of the restoration of this Ford is clear to see. The twin cam Lotus engine runs well with good oil pressure and the gear changes smooth. We are advised on the open road this Lotus Cortina drives well and creates a host of admiring glances. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a full years MoT test certificate and a huge history file together with a number of spare parts. Alongside the detailed ownership history, this is a very desirable and well-maintained example and is a great opportunity to own one of these highly sought-after and collectable classics. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1963 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster (3.8 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:41419Introduced in 1961, the Jaguar E-Type caused a sensation when it appeared with its instantly classic lines and 150mph top speed. While, inevitably, the car's stupendous straight-line performance and gorgeous looks grabbed the headlines, there was a lot more to the E-Type beneath the skin. The newcomer's design owed much to that of the racing D-Type and, indeed, the E-Type would be one of the last great sports cars developed directly from a successful competition ancestor. Just as in the D-Type, a monocoque tub formed the main body/chassis structure while a tubular space frame extended forwards to support the engine. The latter was the same 3.8 litre, triple-carburettor, 'S' unit first offered as an option on the preceding XK150. With a claimed 265 horsepower on tap, the E-Type's performance did not disappoint. Mainly because it weighed around 500lb less than the XK150 but also, because aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer used experience gained with the D-Type to create one of the most elegant and efficient shapes ever to grace a motor car.Delivered new in 1963, this wonderful matching numbers example is finished in the very elegant colour combination of British Racing Green over a tan leather interior and comes complete with the desirable factory hardtop. Presented in its original left hand drive guise, this E-Type is fitted with an aluminium dashboard and centre console. Professionally restored by marque specialists it has undergone a full bare metal respray as well as a complete interior retrim, including a new hood and, consequently, presents fabulously. During the restoration, this Jaguar was treated to an engine, gearbox, and rear differential rebuild undertaken by Rushton Engineering Ltd and as such is in very good order throughout. This very well-presented example comes complete with a history file detailing the restoration, many sundry invoices and the current UK registration document. The perfect candidate for those long-distance continental tours or that summer trip to the south of France. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction.
