1989 Mercedes W126 500 SE AutoMake: Mercedes Model: 500 SE Year: 1989Mileage: 89000VIN: WDB1260362A471171Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: G142HUBTransmission: automatic The W126 was Mercedes-Benz's second generation S-Class, with a long production run from 1979 to 1991. Engines ranged from 2.6-litre six-cylinder units up to 5.5-litre V8s, with 818,063 saloons and 74,060 coupés being built, totalling 892,123, making the W126 the most successful S-Class type. This 1989 Almadinrot (metallic red) 500 SE automatic example, with red leather interior, has had two former keepers. It has a full Mercedes-Benz history up to 81,000 miles. The vendor informs us that within the last six months, it has been refurbished and fully serviced, including having its air conditioning done. Many new parts have been fitted including brakes, shock absorbers and air conditioning components. The paperwork folder includes the current V5C (recording two previous keepers) as well as the original document wallet with warranty form, UK and European sales and service booklets, owner's manual and the maintenance book, which records the last service in July 1998 at 81,494 miles. According to the online MoT history, the car spent from 2008 (when the mileage was approximately 86,500) to 2017 off the road. There's also an original supplying dealer tax disc holder and pre-delivery check sheet, some old tax discs, a selection of invoices for recent work including powdercoating of the wheels plus air conditioning compressor, condenser, dryer and filter, and 2019, 2020 and 2021 MoT certificates (with the latter valid until November 2022). The car also comes with its original and unopened first aid kit, tool kit and a Nokia car phone in the centre console. The factory spare key is present as well. Overall condition is very good, inside and out, although in certain lights, a slight mismatch in paint shades between the driver's door and its surrounding panels is noticeable. A marble topped console table on fluted supports and with gilt metal mounts, approximately 78 cm x 89 cm x 29 cm.Condition Report: Generally good condition,one large chip to the marble top at the rear edge approximately 2.5 cm x 1.5 cm and several small chips / nibbles to the edges, the curved stretcher is somewhat loose causing a slight wobble when rocked back and forth, metal mounts appear securely in place, surface marks to the wood throughout.
